"Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows..."
Have you ever had the most random song stuck in your head? This one has been stuck in mine for the last few days. My guess is that it was inspired by my visit to the sunshine state over the weekend; the sun was indeed shining, and I was in a very celebratory mood.
I arrived Friday night just in time for dinner with Beaker Luv and fam. Then it was play time with the kids before bed, after which Beaker Luv and I chatted late into the night. We eventually, reluctantly headed to bed, gosh I miss that girl so much, and woke up early on Saturday to run some errands before Rixy's bachelor/bachelorette party was to begin. The bridal party and I all met at their hotel and we spent a few hours catching up, playing hilarious games, and preparing for the night ahead; we dressed the bride and groom in fun wedding theme'd t-shirts that were concert appropriate.
After dinner at the Ale House, where libations were had, more games were played, and food was consumed, we headed over to Downtown Disney to hit up the Dropkick Murphys show at the House of Blues. If you've never heard of them, they are a very loud, energetic, Boston-based, Irish-born, American Celtic punk band that really know how to put on a show. We missed the opening act, but arrived just in time to catch the second opener, Old Man Markley, a punk bluegrass band which we all really liked. When DKM came on the place went wild and we spent the next few hours yelling the songs on the tops of our lungs and dancing around like idiots. It was such a blast and our bride and groom thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Back in Michigan today, as I set out for an easy paced 6 miler, the verse popped back in to my head as the sun was actually shining, but then I started hitting large patches of snow-turned-ice sidewalk and proceeded to mutter curse words as I rolled my ankles a dozen or so times throughout the rest of the run on more of the same. It's sooooooo good to be home. *Grumble*

Glad you had a fun time in Florida, always nice to get away, even if only for a little bit.
I can understand the short girl thing. Like seriously.
I can also understand coming home from Florida to cold and ice, as I was in that position only a few weeks ago. I hope your ankles are okay, and that you didn't roll them too bad. Relax and enjoy being home, besides the craptastic weather, just know you aren't alone in that....at all.
awesome on Dropkick Murphys - I'll be seeing them at Coachella! And they are the anthem to the Boston Marathon which is awesome!
Awesome idea for a bachelorette party. Sounds like you had a nice time in FL. I've been amused hearing complaints of how cold it is in FL right now. :)
Ugh, I feel you on the weather. I'm originally a South Florida girl and this St. Louis winter is slowly killing my will to live!
The concert looks awesome though! I'm crazy jealous. I've been dying to see them in concert!
I'd give anything to be in Florida right now. Winter here can just go the eff away.
So jealous of your Dropkick Murphys show. I'd love to see them in concert.
So jealous you got away from this crap for a few days! Glad you had a blast and got in at least 1 good run :)
Stupid cold! Miss your face. LOVE the t-shirts.
Love that song! Also, did you see Justified last night? I'm calling continuity issues with the Sheriff's back story.
What you think of my make up?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSo4Mv8pq78
