3 Things Thursday

  1. New Kicks... Last week was Playmakers Annual Sidewalk Sale and Spike picked us up some new kicks to start rotating in to the artillery.  These shiny new gals will be rotated in with the "Flying Mercury's" back there; I'm still working on a name for them, suggestions are welcome in the comments below!
  2. The color is called "Electric Violet" maybe I work with that?
Long-long... This past weekend I finally ran beyond the half marathon distance (since the injury) with a 14 miler over at Hudson Mills. Spike accompanied me for the first 9+ miles and I rounded out the last few solo. Saturday I have 16 on deck and I'm excited to go even longer; marathon training is in full effect over here!
  3. Frostbite Marathon Relay... And what better way to recover from that 16 miler than to join seven other crazies in Holland, MI for another go at the Frostbite Marathon Relay on Sunday?! We did this relay back in 2011 as the "Frosted Flakes" and team captain, Kevin, decided it was high time we made another appearance. Prepare yourselves for the recap next week!

What are the rest of y'all getting in to this weekend? How long are you going? Any races planned? Is everyone else freezing their @sses off as much as we are here in the mitten?!?!

I love getting new shoes! Also, sad that I switched away from Asics and now they have tons of fun colors. :)

If the Frostbite Relay is this weekend, it will be the most aptly named race ever.

We will be attending my birth family's annual bowling night out this weekend. Hopefully I'll get to squeeze in some hometown runs too.

I'd say Silver Bullets.

Yeah for long-ass runs! I'm running 5 on Saturday but I signed up for the Groundhog Half next weekend so I have to jump to 13.1 in a week. I blame temporary insanity. Have a great time at Frostbite!!

Yeah for your longest run yet! Congrats! I just started training for a half marathon -- my first since my stress fracture. Do we get new post-injury PR's? ;)

The weather's not bothering me because of the cold, but it's not helping me wellness-wise. I keep catching colds from everyone, and it's really annoying. On the bright side, being cooped up so much is making me chomp at the bit to do some real running.

Good luck with the new shoes, the building miles, and the relay.

The high this week was 22. Probably warm compared to Michigan but I want 60 degrees back!!
