3 Things Thursday
Lunch Date... Guess who gets to have lunch with one of her favorite NYC bloggers this afternoon?!?! This girl! Yes, Celia is in town to visit her fam, which just so happens to be where I work. Woo! We last saw each other in NYC in April when I was in town for a business trip; I'm looking forward to eating some more yummy food together and catching up.
- Missing Mojo... Alright peeps, I don't know what my deal is, but I cannot seem to get in to the groove this week. Am I burnt out, or am I just slacking? I've managed one run all week and here I am two weeks out from my goal race. Has anybody seen my mojo?!?!
- WWYD... Speaking of running, I'm stuck on how far to run this weekend; it's my final long run before CCRR (next week being a shorter-taper longish run). I had originally planned to go 14 miles this weekend, but after thinking on it, a part of me kinda wants to hit that 13.1 for the first time race morning. So do I run 12 miles again? 13? Or just stick to the plan and do the 14? What would you do?

Not sure how long your longest run is so far, but I would do 14- maybe even 15 if you have already done 12 or more. It would give me more confidence for a race, and help the endurance.
Personally, I would do 12. Almost all training plans have you go to 11 or 12 for a half (20-22 for a full marathon). I don't think I've ever seen a plan that recommended going over the race goal. Race day motivation and adrenaline will be plenty to get you there! :)
I would lean toward 14 just because you want to PR on race day. 14 would help build the endurance and give you more mojo. :)
you just had a few crazy wknds, just need life to get back to normal routine and your mojo will follow. :-)
Feeling burnt out and only two weeks away? Hellooooo taper! Just set out for 12 and if you feel good tack some on at the end. The way you've been running all year, I'm sure you'll have a great race regardless!
Your mojo and mine must have gone out for tea or something because this week has been a major struggle!
Go out for the 12 miles and see how it goes. IF you feel good enough to run the extra two miles, then do it. IF not then stop and save it for the race. You could always do just 13.
Maybe your mojo ran off with my mojo...
If you want to hit 13.1 in the race I'd do just 13 this weekend. Whether you do 12,13 or 14 won't really make a difference physiologically. It will make more of a mental difference for some.
SEE YOU SOON!
I'd do 14 and plan to do 14. I'm not good at game day decisions b/c I always end up picking the shorter distance. LOL! Just plan for the 14 nice and easy.
Did you leave your mojo in a hurricane? ;)
I say go out with your goal being to run 12 miles. If you feel good, then run the additional 2.
No clue what you should do - besides having fun with your friend :) At this point, 12 to 14 probably isn't a big difference.
If you absolutely, positively have your heart set on 13.1 for the first time during the race, go 12 to 12.5 this weekend.
If it is not a deal breaker, then go 14 miles.
I think if you want the race to be a celebrate of getting back to 13.1, you should run 12 this weekend. There's certainly no need to do 14 and plenty of people never do. I doubt it will have any influence on your time.
Do the 14, it will give you confidence that you can nail 13.1 at race pace come race day. Have fun!
It will be more fun for you to hit that 13.1 on race day. You have something to look forward to at the finish line. You can always do a 12 miler instead of a 14.
Glad to hear I'm not alone on missing mojo. I really don't think it makes much of a difference between 12 and 14 miles. You have a week for resting up. Just make sure those miles are easy. A tempo run wont do any good at this point.

14 - I try to do just a bit more so I can get it in my head that I can cover the race distance.
Perhaps our mojos have been out together, mine came back yesterday :-)
took the dogs with me and it was slow but fun. More planned for today.
Leave $20 in small bills in a paper bag on the corner of Mack and Third. I'll let your Mojo go after getting the okay that the money is there. It's going to be hot this weekend, so just drink and lounge by the pool.
You're in the midst of a very exciting time -- pre-wedding! So it's not too surprising that your mojo may be elsewhere right now.
