- Fitted and Showered... Last night was my first official dress fitting and seriously you guys, I cannot WAIT to see Spike's face on the wedding day! *Le sigh* Next up is the bridal shower on Sunday; I'm so excited to see all of my friends and family, especially my MOH/best friend from Florida along with my cousin/bridesmaid from Illinois who are both in town to host the event! (Yes, I know I sound like such a girl right now and I'm not sorry at all.)
- Training Time... Monday officially kicks off Capital City River Run half marathon training and I am sooo not ready. This weather has really been kicking my butt and I'm seriously considering cutting my training down to a seven week plan or maybe just half-ass week one and go from there? Is anyone else feeling this way because of the relentless heat and humidity? I swear, this is worse than any weather I trained in when I lived in Florida!
- Playmakers Sidewalk Sale... It's Christmas in July here in the mitten because today kicks off the Playmakers semi-annual Sidewalk Sale! If you live anywhere near the area, you should really hit it up on opening morning sometime, it's really quite entertaining. I kept my shopping to a minimum, picking up two new additions to the family and Spike is especially proud of the bright green Mirage II purchase. (But they're going back at the first sign of tongue movement on a test run!)

Heat is my cryptonite too. If there's anything that can come between me and my runs it is that!
Enjoy the shower, or at least as much as you can. I know mine just flew right by and I felt like I only talked to about half the people there.

I'm tired of heat and running. I mean running in the heat. Actually I just tired of my shorts being soaking wet when I'm done. They stick to me and it's just gross.

I so feel you on the heat. Arg. I picked the wrong summer to train for a marathon. I've been doing what I can but still following the length of my plan. I sometimes am super bad and cut out cool downs and I walked almost the last mile of my long run last week because of the heat. Stinks but just trying to get time on my feet.
Ya, heat will kill any idea of a good run for me as well.
Also... I think that Spike need a Guy Shower... you know, video games and power tools... that kind if thing. ;)
Gonna have to call you out on number 2. Hot ... yep. Humid ... yep. Able to run rather than wrestling with an injury ... yep. Git 'er done.

You guys should come out to the NW. You would freaking love the temps here. We think it's so hot when we have to run in high 80 deg temps with not much humidity.

Good luck with the bridal shower. I understand, from female sources I know, that they're fairly lame.
The heat is not my friend either (my ideal temperature's somewhere in the mid-50s). I think I've started adjusting to it pretty well, though, considering how awful it's been. I just keep going out there and making sure to stay hydrated. It's definitely slowing me down a lot though.
I need new kicks, but 6am? Nah.

Runnerds seriously love them a good sale - I don't know anything else that would get people up that early to Shop for activity gear! Playmakers hit a jackpot with that idea.

This summer is killing me slowly too so I understand. I have a half marathon in a month and my training has not been very good so far. I don't think I'll be too disappointed if I have to take it easy during the race. *sigh*
