| Three reasons why I didn't wanted to leave up north! |
- 4th of July... I hope everyone had a great one! We headed "up north" to Spike's family's cottage for the 4th festivities where we had lots of fun in the sun running the annual Boyne City Independence Run (recap HERE), going kayaking (my first time!), and just generally enjoying the beach with about 40 or so of our favorite relations. It was an absolute blast and I am so sad we couldn't stay through the weekend. (Although we were treated to two full hours of fireworks during the drive down last night from all the various towns and backyards we passed along the way.)
- Guns and Abbo... With a little over three months until our big day, Spike and I have kicked off an arm and ab routine to do each night together; five nights later I am sure of two things: 1. my arms are going to look cut in my dress and 2. the two of us might be able to plank the whole ceremony. To you married and engaged peeps, did you and your SO get buffed up before your wedding? Did you do it together? Was this a good or bad thing? LOL!
- Music Mania... A couple of months ago my computer died and I lost my entire itunes collection, easily the saddest part of said computer's demise, and I am now in the process of rebuilding my music library. Trying to remember all the awesome running songs I lost is almost impossible and I was wondering if I can get your music must have's in the comments below!?!?

That's adorbs that you guys are getting fit together. I doubt the manfriend would go for that, but I'd like to challenge him. I can barely get him to do downward dog when his back is hurting him.
You will be one toned duo! Have you decided on where you honeymoon will be yet?

Awesome working out together!!! Happy 4th of July Week! Erica
Music Must haves . . . brain on overload . . . too many good choices . . . Here are a few:
The Heavy -- The House that Dirt Built -- best running song, How You Like Me Now
The Black Keys -- Brothers -- Best running song, Everlasting Light
Dommin -- My Heart, Your Hands (they only have two songs I like, but I love running to this one).
And, for those long runs when need something peaceful, powerful, and filled with emotion, this is my favorite song: River of Deceit by Mad Season.
I want to see pics of a marriage while planking... I'd make the minister do it as well. ;)
Sad face about your Music! The must have in my running tunes is anything 1970's Disco.
How could it be a bad idea to get fit together?! Love this. Two of our friends just got married last weekend, and they did Weight Watchers together for the 7 months leading up to their day - they loved it, had great results, and were so supportive of each other! :)
Northern Michigan is one of America's best-kept secrets, imo. So gorgeous. I've been to Northport Point a few times and was totally smitten.
Hopefully Beth responds. She has tons of tunes. And good job! You will look awesome!
My husband is hoping to golf near Boyne when we're up north later this month. We're also planning to kayak every day. Cannot wait! Glad you had a fantastic 4th!
My family has a cottage and I totally enjoy escaping there whenever I can, I've been up there all but 1 weekend since Memorial Day! I am getting myself in shape for my wedding on my own, triathlon training has majorly helped with that one.
Don't have any good suggestions as I don't run with music anymore.
I have never been kayaking and I can NEVER get my boyfriend to workout with me, so I'm terribly jealous of you:-)
There are so many good running songs. Depends on my mood. I love Jimmy Eat World, Prodigy and anything by Jennifer Lopez. I know, what an odd collection.
ahahhahah i laughed so loud at your plank statement. Super funny!
we have not got to the point where we are really kicking it up a notch, but we will start september. super healthy food, little to no alcohol and 5 times a week work out!
I'll be reading through the comments here to find some new turns for listening to. For the angry songs - I like a lot of Eminem, 'Remember the Name'-Fort Minor, 'Galvanize' - Chemical Brothers. Also, 'My Time' - Fabolous, 'Some Nights' - Fun., 'Brokenhearted' - Karmin and well a whole bunch of others but that's what comes to mind!
Wow, going up North for the 4th, you're a regular Michigander now....... HA
BIG SAD FACE to losing the music collection. Although I saw on FB that you were able to recover some - YAY!
Pics from up north look amazing. Love a big ol' family cottage bash!
You & Spike are already pretty damn buff - look out GR!
I did not get buff for my wedding. In fact, I'm at least 20 pounds lighter now :)
Music must haves: I've been really liking Shinedown lately.
I just bought a pair of Ironman earphones... they. are. awesome. And I am loving my 90's Alternative. Stone Temple Pilots, Seven Mary Three, Nirvana, Bush, Offspring, and Everclear. Then I have the random Shakira, Def Leppard, Dixie Chicks and David Crowder Band. I make no sense. But my runs have been great!
