3 Things Thursday

  1. Sunburn 101... Thanks to all your tips, the sunburn from hell is feeling much better. I would like to verify that soaking a towel in white vinegar and putting it on the burn, while smelly, really helps with the pain/sting. Another thing that helped was brewing up tea in a pot, enough that the water is very dark, and doing the same thing (after it's cooled down of course). This took the heat out of the burn and also helped with the pain. These remedies are best done at home and before bed, during the day I've stuck to aloe. As for running, let me just say that BodyGlide does NOT glide so well on a sunburn; save yourself some pain and use Chamois Butt'r or a comparable product instead. My run this morning went great because the Chamois Butt'r made it so my sports bra didn't aggravate the burn at all! Now that the worst of it seems to be over, I'm left with the itch instead. SO ITCHY!!!

  2. SYTYCD... Does anyone else find Mary Murphy's teeth as obnoxious as Sun Runner and I do? There is no way that her teeth are naturally that white and why does she always look like she's about to eat your face off?!?! Must be the bath salts...

  3. Endurance Addiction... Over the last few weeks my long runs have been, well, certifiably long. I'm loving hitting the double digits again, so much so, that I'm having a really hard time coming to terms with not needing to run as far this weekend. It's a great problem to have and I think it proves that I clearly have an endurance addiction. With only six measly miles on deck over here, I'm wondering, how far are y'all going this weekend? Let me drool over your 10, 18, 20+ milers!!! LOL!

Woohoo! Yay for getting back to those double digits!! I'm sure it feels awesome.

Yeah, her teeth look ridiculous. I'm all for a little teeth whitening if it makes you feel better, but it seems like she's gone a bit far.

Mary Murphy makes me want to eat her face off. When I lived with Bryan he made me turn the volume all the way down when she talked. LOL!

I want to run long too!

Great to hear that the doubles are here and staying. You know well that the pul back allows you to go farther so embrace those as well.

Also, if you have an endurance addiction then start long- distance swimming and biking......triathlon: all the cool kids are doing it.

It's not just her teeth, it's the whole face - like Botox gone bad or something.

I'll have another whopping 1.5 miles on the schedule but I'm hoping to get in a nice, long bike ride - maybe ride the 15 mile tri course.

Wow, I don't watch So You Think You Can Dance, but Mary Murphy looks scary. Like her whole face and teeth are plastic surgery or something!

Nailing a long run is one of my favorite things to do. All day, even inside, talking to myself, I am like wow I killed those 12 miles! I can't believe it. Awesome feeling.

Itchy pealing sunburn sucks but I'm glad it isn't hurting anymore.
Thick lotion is your friend.

Mary's entire face scares me, definitely screams plastic surgery. Glad to hear you are on the mend and enjoy the quick run, it's nice to throw in some speed.
