- The Angry Sun... This past weekend while bargaining with myself to run "just one more mile" while melting in the relentless heat I seriously wondered how on earth I used to live and train in Florida?!?! Because of my injury last year I haven't run in the heat since the summer of 2010, which is why it's laughable to recall that I trained for a freaking marathon in worse than this!
- SYTYCD... This evening, after yet another brutally hot run, I kicked off this season's So You Think You Can Dance over at Sun Runner's; I'm fairly certain we just started a new weekly tradition. Please tell me I still have some SYTYCD fans out there reading who'd enjoy nerding out about this from time to time?!?!?
- No Model Here... Despite how great our engagement photo's turned out, I need only consult race photo's to confirm I'm no model. (Thanks for all your comments, it seems the track ones stole the show, even if y'all are biased! :) LOL!) River Bank Run finally sent out a link to race photo's and out of a dozen, this is the only one that I don't look like death. Running fast does not pretty pictures make.

Have a fantabulous holiday weekend everyone! I'll catch you on the flipside with stories of long runs, Jamoosh sightings, and maybe even a recap of our menu planning/tasting session at the reception venue...

I don't know what you're talking about, that race photo is amazing. Mine from last weekend look like a linebacker with war-face.
That picture is great! Maybe your other ones looked rough but you got a pretty good one there!
Even if thats the only good one, it is definitely a good one!!! yay! I didnt comment on the last post, but the track picture is definitely #1!
Confession: we watched the first 20 or so minutes of SYTYCD last night, only because I saw you had mentioned it and I've always meant to check it out! I'd prefer a dance competition over singing (or other ridiculous reality-TV-scheme) ANY DAY. Loved it.
That race picture is GREAT! I'd totally take a bunch of terrible ones for that good one.
I don't know if you can ever get used to running in heat or maybe it's humidity. I have a four mile race this weekend that I'm dreading because it's going to be like 90 degrees. Good thing I'll just run really fast and get it over with.
I used to watch SYTYCD all the time but I haven't in a while... I should get back into it. LOVED that show!
I somehow trained for a marathon last summer in the above-normal temps! This week has been killer with the heat/humidity and it seems crazy that I ran so far in worse conditions just last year.
That is a good picture! Mine are always horrible!
Don't you hate when that happens. I was actually trying to work on my form and swore that I wasn't heel striking anymore and then I would see a race photo and realize nope, nope still a heel striker. Err! On the bright side it is a cute pic. :)
1) I DVR SYTYCD and will watch the rest of it tonight (only saw the first 20 or so min). I CANNOT WAIT TO TALK ABOUT THIS WITH YOU OVER THE NEXT COUPLE MONTHS. Yes, I'm insane.
2) You're beauuuutiful.
3) That's it.
That is a very good pic my friend. Who cares what the others look like.
And the pics on Facebook are tremendous. Memories being made right before our eyes.
That is a really good picture!
Which compression sleeve do you use? I am trying to find one for my calf so it can stop acting like such a baby, but I dont know what is worth looking at.
I definitely plan on making SYTYCD a weekly tradition! I haven't seen the show in a few years and I already have a few favorites from last year!
PS: I LOVED the engagement photos!
What about the one(s) of you "flying" across the finish line???
I think that race photo is actually pretty good!
I love SYTYCD! Glad it's back for another season!!!
Hey, nothing wrong with heel striking. McMillian is a heel striker!

Maybe now you can understand why we northerners complain when it gets hot. Going from cold to hot is tough--just ask the roads about their potholes.
You may be heel striking, but otherwise that's a great race photo!
The only thing I like about summer running is that it makes fall running seem so much easier.
I'm a SYTYCD fan, but I usually don't watch until the Vegas week since I've never been fan of the audition process and how slow those shows go.
That picture is better than all my race pictures combined I think!
That is a good race picture. Why not put the one with your mouth agape up there?
That is an awesome race picture!
