Tuesday Tidbits

Sooo it seems I've gone MIA 'round here huh? A quick look at my last post reveals that it's been almost 3 weeks and then there's always this:

Whoops, sorry folks, I just haven't had much to say since I last posted. (Ok so if you follow me on Twitter you'll notice I do pop up on Sunday's and Monday's to discuss The Walking Dead with a few of my fellow zombie enthusiasts but that's about it.) I hate posting just to post, especially when I have nothing of real merit or value to say but just this once I will feed you some meaningless drivel and catch you up on what I've been up to the last few weeks:
  • Working out via weights, walks, stationary bike, and the elliptical are still going strong. I even managed to get in three solid walks while in Colorado this past weekend.

  • Speaking of Colorado and this weekend, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!!! Spike and I sure did, we visited with the Redhead fam per usual, stayed up way too late per usual, ate way too much per usual, and took lots of ridiculous pics per usual.

The significant other's decided to hold their own photo shoot when they were told they couldn't be in the family photo. (Yes that's the Fa-tha photo bombing in the background)

    Silly Sisters
(I can't believe how old they are now!)

The people who worked at JC Penney were not amused at our hijinks but we sure were!
    Self timer FTW!

  • Wedding planning is still in full swing and I've even drafted up a whole post dedicated to some of the deets for you! Stay tuned!

  • Thursday morning I'm headed in for a MRI on my leg in advance of next week's appointment. The leg is still feeling great and my fingers are crossed I will finally, once and for all, put this injury behind me.

  • The weather here in the mitten has officially turned. Winter is here and the 10" of snow it's bringing tomorrow confirms it. Boo.
So that about sums it up for me, how about you? I've been so busy with work, traveling, and life in general that I've barely had time to keep up. Anyone have anything exciting going on?!?! Do tell!

I've been thinking of you. I'm so glad your leg feels better that is a really great sign that MRI will be clean!

I almost tweeted you the other day to see where you've been. Glad everything is ok! Really looking forward to your wedding post and I'll be praying that your MRI shows a perfectly heeled leg that is ready for some impact! :)

Almost a foot of snow? Yikes!

Glad you're enjoying life away from the Internet. :)

Goofing off with family is the best. Maybe the crankypants workers of JCP missed that memo. Fingers crossed for the MRI!!

Good to see you back 'round here on your blog. I've wondered where you've been! Fingers crossed for that MRI, you SO deserve the Christmas present of 100% healthy injured free legs. As for exciting on my end? Hm, well, our puppy (Cabo) def keeps us busy and she's so damn cute. Love her. Oh, and my cali international marathon is on sunday. Eeek!!

I'm so glad things are feeling well. I'm praying for a fabulous report on that leg of yours! I'm pretty amazed at the attitude you have kept through this entire thing. You're awesome!

Glad to hear you are still alive and kicking!

Well, I got linked to first, but with the shortest of the four words "my"... hmmm... I guess that's good?? haha

I can't believe you have 10" predicted for tomorrow (TWSS). We only have 1-2" and usually get hit worse. Damn lake effect.

Love all the Thanksgiving pictures. Spike continues to worry me...

Really 10" of snow? We've gotten a flake or two but nothing that fabulous. Damn.
Love the family hijinx. We were thrown out of a Pottery Barn for doing something quite similar. Just sayin.
All the best on that MRI!!

Fingers double-crossed for that MRI + appointment!

Also crossed that maybe those 10" will at least get you a snow-day "off"/work-from-home kinda deal. ;)

Good to hear from you. Your crosstraining workouts sound badass. When you do heal, you'll be in great shape, and probably have less tightness/imbalances/twinges overall.

YAY! You are alive! Sounds like a fun, busy time. Cant wait to hear more about the wedding planning!

Love the JCP photos :) ha :)

hey pippy sassy stockings,

have you heard of the "we're alive" podcast? i think they start season three today or this week. zombie/virus outbreak in los angeles and survivors try to...survive, zombies try to eat and other factions try to get their stuff. pretty good series and very engaging.

I cannot fathom 10 inches of snow. In a year. Total. Much less all at once!
Looks like y'all had a bunch of fun taking pics!

Welcome back! I was hoping you would be back soon.

Looks like such great family time! Crossing my fingers your MRI turns up clear, good luck!

Spike said...

Looks like you might be able to start running just when there is enough snow on the ground to prevent you from running outside.

Katie said...

I was going to leave you a note saying that I miss you, but I'm laughing too hard at Spike's comment.

Oh I have been up to soo much. You know, so busy with workouts and all especially.

Glad life is going well. It's good to unplug sometimes - I know I need to more!

Looks like the holidays with your family are a blast! Love the silliness!

It looks like you had a fun Thanksgiving! That pic of Spike in the cart needs to be made into an ornament so that it can grace your tree every year. ;)

Fingers crossed for your MRI!

The Walking Dead mid-season finale threw me for a loop. I've liked where they've varied away from the books, a lot. AMC's decided that every change from the book is a change to create more tension and make it more dramatic. Hopefully they continue that, but I wonder if audiences can handle it if they decide to continue to trump the books. That goes especially for American audiences, who are used to writers catering to their favorite characters and get mad when someone popular is suddenly killed or undergoes an abrupt personality change.

Woo! Here's hoping for a great MRI! My stupid doc refuses to give me one, so it's a guessing game if my femur is healed. I'd love to know for sure before I start running. Can't wait to hear your news!
