- Type-A... So you may or may not have noticed that I added a page to the line-up called "Stress Fracture Files," I decided, all type-a-like, that having a page that summarizes the whole never-ending saga of my injury would be useful for linking and for anyone searching this particular injury. I will continue to update this page as developments occur, beginning with next week's follow-up. *Fingers Crossed* it's my last!
- Not all Red... So I had some massive blonde moments yesterday: First up while standing in line at REI to return a pocket rocket (heh) hand pump I realized all I had to do was switch around the nozzle pieces and it would now fit Leela's valves. Then I had to explain to the clerk who called "Next!" that I didn't need to return it after all. (Blonde Moment #1) Later at PT, Dr. John told me to do 6 side steps and I groaned saying how much it killed me to do 6 last week. His response; "It's only 3 down and 3 back, you've been doing 2 down, 2 back, what's the big deal?" The big deal is that when he said 6 reps I thought he meant 6 down, 6 back. And I wonder why my @ss hurt all weekend long! (Blonde Moment #2) Then, late last night I'm telling Spike about my flub at REI as I attempted to pump up Leela's back tire and couldn't figure it out for the life of me... at which time Spike asks, "Did you read the instructions?" I hadn't, so I did, and all was right with the world. (Blonde Moment #3) I blame all of this on having vacation brain because...
- Bring on the Sunshine... In a few short hours Spike and I board a plane to my beloved Florida! Friends, fun, and sun await! I will finally get to meet Miss Ella, now three weeks old, and spend time with the whole Beaker Luv clan. I'm also looking forward to spectating B.o.B at her Tri-versary race and rounding off the weekend ringing in my Jamily's 30th birthday with my whole gang of FL peeps!
Have you had some epic blonde moments this week? Please share! Any exciting plans for the weekend?

Have fun in Florida!
Florida...aaahhhh...sounds heavenly! :) Have a fab time!!!
Not too much planned for this weekend...spending my Kohls cash. Does that count as fun??? :) I think so! :)
Have a great time in Florida! Glad to hear you are making progress with the PT. Fingers crossed that you will be cleared to run soon!! :)
I have had my fair share of blond moments, let me tell you. I'll share a good one from the weekend. The zipper on our tent broke late at night, the bugs were buzzing and we were frantically trying to close it up as fast as possible. We ended up using a combination of duct tape, safety pins and clothes pegs and it totally worked... except we sealed it up while I was still on the OUTSIDE! Duhhhhhhhhh. Hubs gets blond moment credit on this one too.
Have an awesome weekend with your peeps in FL!
in terms of the bike, i pretty much have a blonde moment every time i ride. NBD. lol!
can't wait to see you.
i'll refer everyone i know to the stress fracture index here on your blog. :)
Can guys have a blonde moment or for guys is it just being a dumbass? Maybe that is a question for you and Spike to debate? Either way I'll share one of my own. A couple of months ago I got some compression socks from REI, which I loved. But after looking at them for a while I got annoyed because they both little white "L"'s stitched into the bottom. They didn't fit strange but, I couldn't get over the fact that I had two left footed socks. After a few weeks of brooding about it. I complained to my wife that they gave me two left socks. She took one look at them, saw the little "L" on the bottom, and said "I think that stands for Large, not Left." Duh!
Hope you guys have a GREAT time in Florida!!!!
I wouldn't even tease you about the (strawberry) blonde moments. I have my fair share!!
erm, i just have to say one thing and it's HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
xo.
Have an awesome time in Florida!! :)
Loved the stress fracture files. I have had a reoccuring shin injury that drives me crazy and makes me paranoid. Thanks for sharing your experience an PT exercises! sounds like you are working with a good team. (my doctor was a dumbass)
Florida!?!?!? What? Isn't it hot enough here for you??? haha
btw *shaking my heading* (and laughing) about the bike pump. :)
You are funny! Have so much fun in Florida - I'm jealous!! Ella is SO stinkin' cute :) Enjoy!
Haha! We both had blonde moments on the same day. I really am blonde though :)
Mine was so bad and blogging related so I had to confess it on my blog. FAIL.
Have fun in Florida!
Great idea on creating a stress fracture page, I might actually have to copy you on that for runners knee. If nothing else for my own records and to help anyone out there who might have it as well.
Too funny about the bike pump! The other day I couldn't find my cell and it was in my hand all along! Opps!
1. trying not to laugh at you
2. laughing at you
3. sniffle wish I was closer that part of FL. have an amazing time
My life is full of these kinds of moments...usually when I am by myself but I always seem to make a point of how "duh" I am.
1. Love the new tab. I hope I never need to refer to it!
2. I live in a constant state of blonde moments. It's sad.
3. Enjoy the vacay/reunion in FL.
I had a really hard time setting up my bike pump too and getting the noozles switched around. Fortunately I didn't try to return it though. I did however, think I had given myself a flat tire the night before my first tri only to discover after changing it (and a panic attack) that the tube was fine. I definitely have lots of blonde moments with my bike.
Hope you have a great trip to Florida!
I didn't realize you still weren't running. How frustrating. Are you doing a lot of biking? The one good thing about my injury was how much I totally fell in love with biking. The bad part.......biking is so much more expensive than running. The new things I want are endless.
Enjoy Florida.
Red as a fellow redhead I enjoy your blog & wacky sense of humor. I have been sentenced to six weeks of "Das Boot" for Achilles tendonosis in my left Achilles. I'm hoping you finish the PT regimen soon & get back to running.... I'm not looking forward to hopping in and out of my ranger mobile.
