- A Runnerd's Black
FridayThursday... Every year around this time Playmakers, the Mid-Michigan mega-running-mecca, has their infamous sidewalk sale. And just like last year, Spike and I were lined up bright and early this morning to partake in all the deals. As usual Spike picked up more shoes than necessary and I kept it modest with a single pair of shoes I hope the docs will let me run in when I make my R2R and a new *pink* trimmed pair of pacer shorts.
*It must also be noted that it was after this sale last year that my girl Jen B. finally responded to my DMstalkingnote to hang out and become friends! I'm sure after she saw me at Playmakers she realized I was too little to be any kind of stranger danger. Happy Befriendiversary!!! LOL! - Harry Potter Nerd... Spike is, not me, but I support his nerdery so guess who'll be waiting in another line later today to be one of the first people to see the final installment of the Harry Potter movies? That's right us.
Any other HP nerds out there? Are you heading to the midnight show tonight? - Runnerd On Wheels Continues... Last weekend I shot for 20 miles on Leela but ran out of trail so this weekend I'm taking to the open road for 20 with a friend, of whom something tells me I'll somehow end up with more miles if I know who I'm dealing with. ;) Leela, my diaper shorts, and I are uber excited to log some serious miles... and this time I'll remember sunscreen.
What's the furthest you've ever rode (ridden?) your bike?

I'm so happy Spike got new shoes. He definitely needed them...not. Hopefully no more marathoning no fresh minimalist shoes!
Have fun at HARRY POTTER! I'm a total nerd too. The Rocketship and I are having an HP movie marathon to watch all of them.
And have even more fun on your 20+ mile bike ride chica!
Not heading to the showing tonight but the hubs and I already got tickets for tomorrow at 8:25 p.m. I wasn't a Harry Potter nerd until I read all the books and then I fell completely for all things Harry Potter.
Good luck on the 20-miler this weekend.
A coworker and I went to a conference in Orlando and went a day early so we could go to HP world at universal...we are giant nerds.
I wish our running store had a huge sale! I need new shoes!
I have seen a few HP movies but haven't read any of the books. Maybe someday I will but doubtful.
The furthest I've ridden is 24 miles but I would like to go farther someday.
I missed the last HP movie and therefore cannot justify seeing the new one (gotta keep with consistency!). Not to mention that I forgot what happens, so I'm starting over by reading the series from Book 1. The last 50-300 pages of each book are a blur to me since I read them too fast.
I have never read a HP Book or seen any of the movies and I plan to keep it that way. It's like Titanic - I am proud to be one of the rebellious few who have never seen it.
I'll be there at midnight!
I miss Playmakers!!!!! Best running store ever. Hands down.
Oooh have fun on the bike bike ride this weekend! Be careful!
My longest was yesterday's ride to work - 19 miles. Looking to extend that soon!!
Farthest I ever rode was 74 miles. Didn't care much for that.
Now I usually cap it off at 25. much more tolerable. :-)
I wish I could make it to that *awesome* sale!! :) I'm not a HP lover but I have friends who are and will also be waiting in lines this weekend for the movie. Let me know how it is!
I'm a big HP nerd but I'm too cranky to stay up until midnight so I'm going tomorrow. And jealous of a sidewalk sale!
I love Harry Potter! I am not going to see the final movie until Saturday though.
Have a great bike ride! I haven't ridden a bike in forever.
I will definitely be going to the midnight premiere tonight! I've grown up on Harry Potter! My sister and I are bringing tissues because we know we're going to be in tears.
I'm definitely a HP fan, but I'm not planning to hit a midnight or even opening day show. Maybe Saturday or Sunday.
As for bike miles, my highest is around 20.
I'm like you and support the Enthusiast's Harry Potter nerdery. I've read two of the books, the first and the last, and let the movies fill in the rest. We're planning to see it this weekend with my nephew. Cheers!
I'm a total HP nerd, but not so much that we're doing a midnight show :) I actually kind of keep forgetting its coming out this weekend (gasp, I know), I feel like there hasn't been a lot of hype around it - which is unusual!
Anywho, go get those biking miles! The furthest I've done so far is 40, and whew, not easy. But it's fun :)
i think Spike and i may in fact be related. lol!
i love me some playmakers. a must everytime i visit from here on out!
enjoy 'Arry Potta! Love u!
Hehehehe! I'm definitely a Potter nerd! ;) What's not to love about it? ;)
I support my fair share of nerdery, but my girl is going to Harry Potter without me tonight. I'd just be keeping one of the other HP lovers from seeing it, and that's just not fair to them.
Also, I don't wanna!
My furthest ride was about 105 miles. I did the Horrible Hundred centrury in Clermont. Lots of hills.
So when is your first tri?

Yea for friendaversaries!
Im a road bike newbie too...but I usually put about 20 miles or so on my mountain bike each weekend. Excited to hook up with a group ride at the bike shop so I can actually learn what I'm doing on this road bike. Diaper shorts and all!
i have not read any of the harry potter books but i do enjoy the movies and i'm looking forward to seeing the final installment. my husband had read all the books and is jazzed up to see the movie. we'll probably be going sometime this weekend or early next week to imax where the husband gets $5 tickets for being a teacher :)
Yay for new shoes. And anything pink.
My level of Harry Potter nerdiness went down when I had kids. No more midnight movies =( You are AWESOME to go with him. And for taking him to Harry Potter World!
And I have no idea what my longest ride was. Back in my bike riding days, I didn't even know what a Garmin is. Have a great ride! (Can't wait until I can replace "ride" with "run"!)
This post would have been better with pictures of said harry potter groupies.
Running out of trail is sort of a good feeling. I rode / ran so far that I couldn't go any more! Sort of like running to the end of the earth - if only there was a broomstick around to take you back...
