LOVE/Don't Love

"Love/Don't Love" via Christy over and 25 before 25

* Awhile back my girl Jen B. was planning a trip to Grand Rapids and I invited myself and Spike to tag along. Friday was the big night out and we met up with Kevin (Ironman by Thirty) and his wife Jennie (both of Frostbite Marathon Relay fun) at Founders for dinner and a brew (or two) before hitting the town for some general debauchery. With every visit to G.R. I find myself falling more and more in LOVE with the city.

So that's what we all look like in regular clothes!

* Painting the town red left me feeling less than stellar the following morning. Adult beverages = Dehydration = Don't Love.

* Kevin gave us the heads up that there was an art festival going on so after brunch Saturday morning Spike and I headed over to check it out and happened upon a book sale! We picked up these awesome antique hardcovers to give our TV-stand some booknerdery. LOVE.

Who else loves an old hardback?

* Is it bad when you are so ghostly white you no longer have any "tan" lines whatsoever? This redhead needs to get a darker shade of pale STAT! Don't Love.

* Sunday morning we loaded up my bike and headed out to the Lakelands Trail where it picks up in Pinckney and I got to bike six glorious miles outside in the fresh air and sunshine while Spike ran. LOVE!

Lakelands is a rails-to-trails that is mostly trail/gravel,
a perfect place to begin my return to running soon!

*
Anybody else got a love/hate relationship with their juicer? While I LOVE the juice it makes me, I Don't Love the clean-up.

Spinach, ginger, beet, apple, pear, and carrot goodness! Mmmm!!!

* Randomly saw this alleyway driving around the other day and let me just say, LOVE!!!

Pink + Flamingo's = LOVE!!!

* Two more weeks of Das Boot. LOVE that it's only two more weeks, Don't Love that it's still two more weeks.

What do you LOVE/Don't Love from this weekend?!?!?

Love the civilian clothes and the alley and booknerdery! Yay for Das Boot on the wane!

For me I loved our fun party weekend, and how I salvaged the cake and my 14 humid miles.
Did not love that things got out of hand on the grilling front. Nothing a little extra BBQ sauce couldn't cover though. :0

My family just moved to Grand Rapids a year ago and they love it!! I love going up to visit them too. It's such a nice city and is a super active community. Lots of bikers and runners.

two weeks is SO close girl! i love that you're almost there and I love that you got in 6 bad ass miles on the bike. in the grand scheme of your athletic career, this is nothing. you will be back sooooo soon!

yea, i was feeling the effects of adult beverages this wknd, too. worse feeling ever...the day after. not so bad while it's going on!

i just bought bare escentuals faux tan. it's pricey but a bunch of women i work with wear it and it's so natural looking. of course, it shows up yesterday after i got cooked at the beach. i'll never learn.

2 weeks~ yay!! Does that mean you can try running again?

love - hey, you're still skinny despite not running! me - not so much. No running, plus too much eating = gain. hate.

Loved Founders and the company!

Didn't love the stomach problems the next day. So maybe I don't have the iron stomach I used to. Or maybe I am just out of practice.

LOVE the old books (we have some on our TV stand, too!), and your city outing! :) It's so fun to fall into a fun/new place that you have a good time exploring!

I LOVE hiking Colorado in the summer (weekend Sunday ritual now), biking with D (even if 40 miles hurts my crotch) and a new Sunday night activity we discovered this weekend - Jazz in the Park :)

TWO WEEKS! That's cake, sister! You've got this!

You know, I was talking with Tall Mom Mel the other day about her meeting blogger peeps at Boston...and man, I'm jealous she got to meet you.

I need to meet you soon!! Running in the NW anytime in the near future? ;)

The Lakelands trail looks so pretty! We will have to run there next time I am in Michigan! Unless it's not possible with the snow in the winter :(

Glad it's only 2 more weeks!!

Love books of any kind.

Don't love 95 plus degree weather with high humidity. It's like running on the face of the sun.
