3 Things Thursday

  1. Hair Did... Yesterday I decided to give my lil cousin, who's a hairdresser, free reign of my hair. This was what she came up with and I'm totally loving it! The red is funky/fun and adds a whole new dimension to my otherwise same old, same old. You like?

  2. Heatwave... While everyone else seems to be hating on the weather lately, I for one am loving it! It totally reminds me of Orlando and I have been sun/warmth deprived for far too long! If there's one thing I've learned during all of this is injury b.s., is that we take a lot of things for granted. If I ever get to run this summer I will be rejoicing every sweat soaked, humidity suffocating minute of it. Why? Because I (finally) can!

  3. Ze Doctor... Tuesday I had an appointment with my Internist, not to be confused with intern, to get some blood work done. I'm still waiting on the results but his suspicions seemed pretty legit about a few things so we'll see what happens... Also, while we're on the subject of doctors, this coming Tuesday is D-Day. (i.e. my next follow-up with the sports doc for a new round of x-rays on that which we no longer speak of.) I highly doubt I'll be posting again before then, since I struggled to come up with content for today as it is, so please keep your fingers crossed for good news!!!

How about y'all just leave me something random in the comments to make this post feel less forced? It's just that I don't have anything to talk about guys... sorry!

HOPING HOPING HOPING for good news. :)

Hair looks adorable but you could probably cut it all off and look like Natalie Portman when she went all baldy.

We're all anxiously waiting to hear about your blood work!! Mine were all negative.. so I'm the freak! LOL

you never cease to amuse me ~

as for 2., where you say you will be rejoicing every sweat soaked minute? I totally get that. You will.

If I start feeling gross on a run, all I have to do to get myself back in the moment is reflect for 1 minute on how much Jan/Feb/March SUCKED worse than a sucktastic run.

I've been sleeping on my living room floor for two nights because the upstairs of my house is like a furnace. The AC does nothing up there.

See you soon!

Your hair does look pretty sweet.

It's definitely tough to come up with something to talk about when all you're doing is sitting in your living room sweating...oh wait, that's just me?

you look positively beautiful!

random: where the heck is our second date email update from little miss FM? are you as mad as i am?

I love the new hair color!!

I don't mind the heat. I'd rather deal with the heat than the rain and cold. I just run earlier in the mornings is all.

1. I love your hair, very cute.
2. I hope all of the medical junk takes a distinct turn to the positive for you!
3. I hate cold weather (even though my idea of cold is 40*), that every winter I say, "I promise never to complain about the heat" - and I keep that promise!
Like everyone's sweet grandma, I just like to hear from you. So, keep coming with the random tidbits.

I love your new look! I've always been too nervous to dye my hair because I'm afraid if I hate it I'll have to dye it back and then be in some kind of endless cycle. ;)

Your hair looks awesome, it does have a lot of depth to it with the coloring. And I'm with you on the heat, bring it on! After such a crappy winter in PA, I don't mind the hot temperatures at all!

Love the new hair (but the 'old' hair also looked great on you!)! :)

Random...hmmm...my dog was feeling sick a couple of nights ago. Kept me up all night. Had to change my bedsheets 4 times. Yep. (i) My dog sleeps on my bed. (ii) He puked all over the place. Oh yeah. My life is so classy! ;)

Love the hair. It is completely a reason to post!

I love the sweating buckets while running part of the heat wave but not the sweating buckets while simply breathing part.

duct taped my crossed fingers so I won't get tired of holding them!

Random sharing. (Just let me tell you I am totally blowing post worthy material just for your amusement!) I know your san-kids now but have little ones in your life so I think you will get a chuckle out of this one. As a 3x over parent it was a first for me.

We live very rurally so potty training the little guy involves bribing him to be aware of needing to "go" by allowing him to pee off the deck. Yeah, my flowers are loving it. not. We have been doing this for awhile. Not every bathroom episode but many. Infact, he will go out on the deck himself and take his clothes off (of course males believe they must nearly underdress to urinate) and pee between the railings.
The other day he comes in without his pants or pull up. Nothing new. I am ready to praise him for not peeing in the pull up but he talks in his I'm-so-excited-I-can't-completely-form-my-words-way which always ends in "let me show you mommy." Of course I got up to go see which flower he had watered this time. I see his pants and pull up dropped on the deck. He is frantically telling me something that I don't understand until he yells, "right here mommy." As he stands by the railing on the opposite side of the deck from where he normally pees. This will now be referred to and the #2 side.
Yeah. He proceded to recreate the situation for me by pushing his little tush through the railings and tell me how he'd "pushed it out."

not.kidding.

Your hair grows fast! Or was your cut eons ago? Whatevs, your cousin did an amazing job, me lovies :) I'll keep my toes and fingers crossed for your results and such. Random comment: I got nothing. It's a brain fart kinda day on my end too!

Cute hair, but I'll leave you something random: pumpkin pie. My fav food! Can I count you in?

tahoegirl said...

Can not stand the heat and humidity. There must be a trick to existing in this crap I just don't know about yet (although today is down right pleasant).

Love the hair! I'm thinking I need to start coloring my hair soon to cover some....um....grays.

Random thought: I cleaned under the bathroom sinks today. Why does one need 5 almost empty bottles of different kinds of lotion? I just tossed them all. I feel so guilty for the waste.

You are too cute! Love the new do!

I know how you feel with the forced posts, unfortunately, that is why I stopped posting.

I am revamping my blog, it will be less running and more crafting ( which is really what I do best)...although I did just sign up for my first 1/2marathon...AGAIN....still only up to about 4 miles and slow as a turtle now, but we will see...... funny how an injury can totally change things!

Hang in there!! Miss you tons!!!

Random:

Although there are approximately 200 million starlings in North America, they are all descendants of approximately 60 birds released in Central Park, New York, by Eugene Schieffelin, who headed an acclimatization society trying to introduce to North America every bird species mentioned in the works of William Shakespeare.

I love your new 'do!!

I have mixed feelings about heat waves. They are nice for taking a walk, wearing sundresses and shorts, but not so great for getting sunburns and sweaty runs. After a long winter, I will take them though!!
We haven't had much warm weather at all.

Heather said...

Your hair looks great! Gotta love a good cut for the summer.

XLMIC said...

Totally hear you on being grateful to just run :) You WILL be there soon!
The hair looks super cute!
Random share: my kids get out of school tomorrow and I am shaking in my shoes…I have nothing planned! Yikes!

LOOOOVE the hair!!

Random joke:
Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers, but was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.

The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said, "These damn girls nights out have got to stop. My wife came home last night without her panties." "That's nothing," said the other. "Mine came back with a sympathy card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said, 'From all of us at the Fire Station, Well never forget you!'

Hair looks great. I think you need to turn your cousin loose on Spike and see what she can do.

Ok, I can't compete with the previous commenter's joke, so I thought I would give you a random Michigan fun fact.

Did you know that standing anywhere in the state a person is within 85 miles of one of the Great Lakes?? Pretty cool.

As for the heatwave, I love it too. For all the complaining people do all winter about the cold, as soon as it gets hot, the same people seem to complain about the heat. You just can't win!

Good luck with your appointments!

An apple, onion, and potato all have the same taste. The differences in flavor are caused by there smell. Pinch your nose and take a bite of each - they will all taste sweet.
