I've got a lot swirling through my head today and when I hit up Christy's weekly post called “Love/Don’t Love” (over at 25 before 25) I decided to steal borrow the format for today’s Monday Mash of thoughts…
- T-minus 4 days til Spike and I leave for Boston. LOVE!
- T-minus 5 days til the weekend festivities of blogger events begin. (If you're going to be in Boston and not in on all the fun shoot me an email ASAP!!!) L-O-V-E!
- Unfortunately it looks like I’m headed to Boston on crutches. I talked to the doc this a.m. and he said there’s just no way of knowing how long this will actually take to heal and to hang on to the crutches for another week or so. Don’t. Love. At. All. :(
- Your response to my last post was amazing and I have to say that since I wrote it, I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Motivation, determination, and inspiration have returned in full force and I’ve been rocking the gym and pool like nobody’s business! Love.
- I have even found a benefit to all this
pool joggingaqua slogging; I can work on my form! With nothing but time on my hands, I have been making it a point to monitor my arm swing and have also been doing “swimmer rows” at the gym with weights. All this focused attention should get my cross-over under control for when I get back to *real* running. Love. - Another benefit: Last weekend Spike took me to my first Wings game and the kind people at the arena took one look at me on my crutches and sent us to get our seats changed to handi-cap seats so I wouldn’t have to tackle any stairs! Talk about going above and beyond! LOVE!

- My swim cap makes me look like a bald smurf. Don't love.
- The over-50 aqua aerobics class has taken notice of me and I am now known as the "crutches girl". While not a full on pussy posse via SUAR, they are a hodge-podge of elderly ladies and gents that seem to think my coming to the pool on crutches is just the darndest thing. Kinda love. (Cuz old people are cute when they're not creepy.)
- Guess what finally arrived this past weekend?!?! SPRING!!! I think it’s for real this time and not just a tease. Blue skies, sunshine, birds singing, I'll take it! LOVE!!!
Your turn, give me one thing you love/don't love today!!!

Do you know what would make this post complete? A picture of that bald smurf. ;)
I just get weird looks when I aqua jog. I also have the added bonus of icing my legs at the same time since the heater in the pool is broken!! Have a great time in Boston!!
arrgg that was ME!! Mamarunsbarefoot. I'm logged onto my sons account!
Fun post today!! Sorry that you're stuck with crutches for Boston. Maybe you'll get some more special treatment??
LOVE the gorgeous spring day we are having. DON'T LOVE that I am strapped to my desk!
Love that you are feeling so good about everything! Love that my recovery run this morning felt so good. Don't love that your wings beat my hawks yesterday. Love that the hawks managed to sneak into the playoffs anyhow. LOVE MY NEW HALF PR! :)

Loving my daughter and hating my mad procrastination skills...
Have fun in Boston!
New pictures of my nephews in my cubicle: LOVE.
Scratchy throat/general malaise/incipient cold: DON'T LOVE
the bald smurf was my favorite smurf. jus' sayin'.
Were you at the Wings game on Friday night? I was there!
What I LOVE: maybe spring will actually show up in Michigan soon.
What I DON'T LOVE: trying to run 8 miles on Sunday in 83* temps to only make it 6 with total suckitude on time and feeling like I was going to pass out.
I'm with you on the arrival of Spring. Unless it's not really the arrival of Spring. Head up--cheers!

How awesome to have special seating! I hope you enjoyed the game.

Ha, bald smurf image is totally amusing. A picture might be necessary ;)
"Cuz old people are cute when they're not creepy." Confession: i kind of always think they're creepy, but sometimes in a cute way...
LOVE: another strong race, and looking for the next challenge!
Don't Love: D out of town for the third week in a row :p
Great last post you did about injury. Ugh. Stress fractures are a whole thing unto themselves. So humbling.
Boo about crutches in Boston, but yay for 4 days. I know you will make the most of it. And you will be easy to find.
See you soon...
I LOVE your post...your stories always bring a smile to my face! Hang in there and try to have as much fun in Boston as possible.
Can't wait to hear about your trip!!
Love: Having these windows wide open and taking the girls outside to play.
Don't Love: My lack of mild-temp running gear...I.need.to.go.shopping!
LOVE: this weather!
Don't love: that I bought a new running skirt and it doesn't even sort of fit.
I love that I managed to get 5 miles in on this beautiful day. I don't love that my legs were like lead the whole time after moving this weekend. A 3rd floor apartment is NO FUN on moving day.
Love my hubby for racing a tough mudder Saturday...hate how messy my house is.
i love that i get to see you in FIVE days!!
You are so awesome. I'm so impressed that you are able to keep working out in the pool with your injury. You are the definition of perseverance!
It's sad you will be on crutches in Boston, but you will still have a really great time!
50 aqua classes, holy nut sack batman! glad you are feeling better this week
I am loving this post but not loving work today. I wish i could be outside in this beautiful spring weather! :)
I leave in four days too!! YAY!! LOVE!
Can't wait to meet you!!
Great post! Glad to hear the spunk and upbeat attitude on your voice (so to speak of course)
Love - That I got to spend a load of time with my daughters, especially the 5yo who will be done with kindergarten next month; these moments will be gone soon so I cherish all of them
Don't Love - Gas prices! They suck our bank account to the point where we can't do much or buy much or go many places. No fun. I've been pretty much cutting out all non-essential trips, so we're stuck at home a lot these days. Boo!!
A cute Smurf, I'm sure.
Spring Break for my Princess - LOVE.
That it doesn't feel like spring - Don't Love.
Great picture of you two!!
Getting to finally meet you and Spike at the Martian....LOVE!!
Have a blast in Boston... so jealous.

:-)
Can't wait to meet yaw'l at Boston!
Love the beautiful Central Florida weather.
Don't love that first thing Monday morning I got pulled into a meeting with the big bosses.
Love the beautiful biking weather we have been having
Don't love the fact that the real world (aka, work, chores, etc.) gets in the way of having fun.
Just out of curiosity, how are you aqua slogging? Are you running in the shallow end where you can touch or are you wearing a floatation belt and slogging in the deep end?
Just rotate yourself 90* forward in the pool and you'll be 2/3's of the way into triathlon training Just need to add in some biking :)
See you soon! See you soon! la la la la see you soon! ;)
LOVE: I only have 6 Mondays until SUMMER BREAK!!
DON'T LOVE: you still having to mess with crutches. I'm so sorry girl. HATE those things. But, I'm so jealous that you got to sit in handicap seating!! haha.
i also LOVE how close boston is...but i don't love that i can't come to any of the amazing blogger meet ups!!!! boooooo!
Ha! That swim cap line is funny :)
Love: You. And that hopefully you and Schmoopy will have time to meet up Tuesday....
Don't Love: Being at Work.
Awww you will learn to embrace the swim cap! It's better than getting strangled by your hair :)
I love the crutch decorations, I hope you get off of those bad boys soon!!!
You guys are such a cute couple. LOVE!
Oh, and I freaking love EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW! I get to run! To put it in perspective, it's just in 90 sec intervals, and 10-15 mins total tops. But that tiny bit of running makes me SO happy, I can't describe it! Plus, I'm training. A ton of endorphines, me is happy.
So sorry about the crutches, but you'll heal very soon, and we'll read a ton of awesome race reports from you!!! I promise!
Boston boston boston!!! Can't wait to finally meet you and chat it up! Such a bummer about needing the crutches while you're there, but hey, at least it'll be easy to spot ya in the crowds :) I love your positive attitude, hang in there! those crutches will be a thing of the past in no time!
LOVE that we have sun today in the PacNW. Don't Love that it may be the last time we see it for awhile according to weather reports...we skip spring and summer hits July 1. So excited for you guys and all the bloggy meet-ups...can't wait to see pics. So sorry you will have to be on crutches...You will be easier for the runners to spot when you are waving one in the air as they run by!!
OMG have SO SO much fun in Boston! I should have told you this months ago, but when I went to watch J last year, we hired a drive to "limousine" us from point to point on the course (and stalk the limo with booze)....ummm, it was AMAZING. His name was "Billy." I'm sure that's enough information for you to find him. Uuuuugh I should have told you months ago. Bad friend. Wait-did you enjoy the hockey game, because if so, we are best friends.
Cuz old people are cute when they're not creepy....bahaha!!
Dang crutches. I bring mine out every now and again for fun. I think I still have permanent calluses on my hands from those suckers! Nice triceps though:) I know how tough it is NOT to run, but I tell you, you will have the GREATEST appreciation EVER for it when you get back to it! Great job with the crosstraining!
Hope you have a fantastic time in Boston!!!!
Today I don't love that it's 27 degrees and I didn't look at the forecast before I headed out on my bike in shorts:)
Today I love a really good camera and lens that my wife researched and bought. It has made all the difference in the world as we're attempting to digitize our baby's first days.
Hopefully spring has reached Boston, too, and you aren't doing water slogging through snow.
Don't love that you're injured and on crutches, but, do love that I get to see you this weekend!
Great post, seems like you are keeping your spirits high and you'll get the most out of your Boston trip.
Aren't all Smurfs bald though? Is there one using Rogaine?
Come on, old people are totally awesome even when they are creepy.
i just found your blog through... well, don't remember. : ) love it!
