- You know you're a runner when... your friends send you pictures of their foot when you're having an email exchange about injuries. "It hurts right here..."
- Slow Walker... Although I'm officially back among the mobile, it is slow going. I'm not intentionally ambling mind you, I just can't manage a brisk pace. Through my travels in Boston I have learned to "pull over" to the side to allow others to pass me but I still seem to enrage impatient folks wherever I go and it appears I'm not the only one. Did you know there's a FB page called "I hate slow walkers?" It seems there's a whole epidemic occurring and I've just added to the slow @ss population. FML. If there are those of you out there that suffer from Pedestrian Aggression Syndrome, I would like to inform you that I am not a slow walker by choice and kindly direct you to these tips on how to deal with a slow walker.
- Good Luck... This weekend two of my favorite blog peeps are embarking on some serious feats; First up we have my beloved B.o.B who will be tackling her first Olympic Tri at St. Anthony's, and then we have my LDR-Schmooper Running Laur who is heading out for her first 50 miler!!! Good luck to both of my lovely ladies, I know you'll do great and I can't wait to hear all about it! I'll be waiting anxiously for your finish texts!!! Dream strong, swim/bike/run fast, and make every moment count!

Yay for being up and walking! Slow is good!
when i got my stress fracture, jon was sending me emails with anatomical drawings of feet and red circles over where his similar pain was. oh runners...
I actually DID know about that facebook page! Don't worry, I'm not a member. I do get frustrated when people can't seem to pick a side of the sidewalk to walk on, but I don't want to run them down, I usually just jump in a yard or the street. I guess this is just to say, "yay for being on the mend!"
I am a brand new reader, and I was reading about your water adventures, and I HOPED you knew about Beth from Shut Up and Run, but rather than ask I noted that your FB page likes her FB page. So I can now relax about that. Good luck getting back on track!!
I really dislike slow walkers but now I realize that some of them might have a reason for being slow. I might have to aplogize for some angry thoughts I sent towards a few slowpokes.
Have a great weekend.
It is sad that people hate and feel aggressive towards slow walkers :( Just go around, people!
Here's hoping you are moving faster soon :)
Ha ha, I love exchanging injury emails with my fellow runners!
if you want, i'll send you a picture of my butt so you can see where it hurts.
i am still a slow walker, but i am getting there.
slow walkers dont bother me ... my pet peeve is the people walking on the path towards me when i'm out running OR walking and they are walking 2 or 3 people wide and DONT MAKE ROOM OR MOVE OVER! so frustrating! i've been run off the sidewalk and the trails. i just wish MORE people could share the space and be courteous to others :)
Yea for slow walkers!!!!
Never thought to email you were my foot hurts.. Making a note for next time...
I'm a slant walker...for some reason if I am walking next to someone I find myself always hitting into the person...slanty and slow...what's a girl to do!
If you gotta walk slow, you gotta walk slow! Let people get irritated and impatient. Maybe you should stick a label on your back: "Recovering from a stress fracture. Get off my ass."
GO BETH & LAUR! Woohoo!!!
Woohoo my foot email made it to TTT! Do I win a prize? Lol :D
I am so super excited for Lauren. She is going to do great!
Aw thanks lady! I'm over here all sorts of in panic mode. LOL!
Dude, just wait til you are healed. Then you'll show those slow walker haters. I bet they aren't even walking that fast! *shakes fist*
BTW, you know I don't like feet and I was all up in Harold's email like a damn podiatrist. Heh!
Just wanted to say thank you! I received a text later from a happy camper! Your such a sweet heart!
THANK YOU!!!!!
There will be a LOT of slow walking in my future next week. I can feel it.
Nothing wrong with slow. Glad you are getting back!
As for 'ykyarw': Can I send you photos of my evil pinky toe? ;)
I only dislike slow walkers when the congregate in large paths the entire width of the bike/running path.
I still don't know why you just aren't making Spike carry you everywhere :)
^LOL at IBT's comment. What good is Spike if he can't carry you around? I think you might be able to fit into a toddler backpack. ;)
I'll see you later, and don't worry, I'll walk at your pace. :)
Maybe all the slow walkers of the world are really just injured runners.....hmmmmm....
Aw, I'm totally guilty of being annoyed by 'slow walkers'. Dang! I'll be more patient next time, though I hope I'm never "that person" that makes someone feel like the need to step out of the way. You'll get your walkin'/running legs back soon!
Slow walker--whatever, at least you're walking!!
