Happy Friday Peeps!!! I thought I'd have some fun today and take you on a photo tour of a typical day in the life of the Redhead. (All photo's taken on Wednesday)
The alarm goes off about 7ish around here and after the loo it's straight to the foam roller to work out any of the kinks that may have settled in over night and go through my stretching routine...
After a quick banana to jump start my morning I make a half-hearted attempt to clean myself up and then hop into Lola for the 45 min/32 M drive in to work...
After I get booted up at work and address any immediate tasks I head to the kitchen for my real breakfast and then it's time to get down to business...
At some point after lunch I touch base with Fabulous, my fabulously gay running co-worker, to see if he wants to run. It was raining cats and dogs on Wednesday so he passed, because he's a wuss, so I had to head out solo.
41* = T-shirt weather! Tech-tee from Punk Rock Racing
(Also, you can totally tell I wear a padded bra during the day.)
(Also, you can totally tell I wear a padded bra during the day.)
In the flash of a camera I change from work-dork to runnerd in the rest room. There's only about 3 other women who work here so thankfully I didn't have to worry about anyone walking in on me when I was snapping these. That would've been awkward... as if I'm not the office weirdo already.
After the run I hit the random shower stall we have to rinse off. I love that we have this but it's the most bizarre thing ever.
Post-run & rinse I mix up a protein shake and log my run into Dailymile. Then it's back to work for a few more hours.
About 6:30-7ish I call it a day and jump back in to Lola for the commute home. It always takes longer to get home. I hate that part.
Back at home I hit the foam roller again while I wait for my dinner to warm up. Yes I'm that dedicated to the cause as I'm prone to injury.
After dinner, seeing as how Spike was out of town for work, I settled in for the night to watch "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" movie (Swedish Sub-titled Version - I finally finished the series so I was excited to see the movies.), slather on some Biofreeze, R.I.C.E, and snack on some peanut-butter filled pretzel nubs. (Thanks B.o.B for introducing me to this crack at Ragnar!)
It's safe to say Mr. Foam Roller sees more action than Spike does.
And one more time for good measure, I hit up the foam roller again and go through all my stretches before I hit the hay.
So there you have it, a day in the life of the Redhead. Exciting stuff huh?
What's a day in your life look like?!?!?

we have a rando shower at work too! The cyclist at work and I are literally the only ones to use it!
I wish I had time to run during work, but I'm planning on running to and from work during the spring and summer! Gotta remember to pack the compression socks for afterwards.
Your search words are hilarious!!
I'm guessing your foam roller and calf stretching platform are never neglected?!?
I think that's pretty awesome that you have a shower at work. I would have to come back in sweaty and nasty to finish out the day. No thank you.
how long do you foam roll for when you do? I just can't bring myself to do it even though i know I should. even just like 5 mins
@RunningLaur - 5 slow deliberate rolls on each ITB, calf, and my back. Then I have a whole series of stretches, stability exercises, etc... It takes me about 20 minutes to get through them all.
Great pictures. I like the mild-mannered glasses-wearing Morgan in juxtaposition with the energetic, blazing-fast superstar Redhead.
HEY! How did my Gasparilla bag get in your picture...
Happy Weekend
You really don't want to see photos of my day!!!!!
You are dedicated to Mr. Roller! Good for you! I wish I had a random shower thing at work. Actually, we do, but it is full of toilet paper and paper towels...
Fun! I just may steal this from you sometime.
I wish we had a shower at work... I bet my coworkers do to... :)
My foam roller needs to see MORE action. *note to self*
Good luck on your 20 tomorrow. I have 10 - my first double digit run since my 1/2 marathon last October. Yikes!
Ok, you foam roll 3x a day? Is that how much I'm supposed to be doing it? My random 5 minutes after dinner is clearly not cutting it.
What a fun post--best of luck on your 20 tomorrow!
Wow, that's a pretty long day. Impressive!
Best of luck in your 20miler tomorrow, that's 32km in Canada-speak, a distance I've never-ever hit.
"It's safe to say Mr. Foam Roller sees more action than Spike does." Poor Spike. Haha.
I love the side by side picture. From business professional to super runner in less than 5 minutes :)
That is awesome that you have a shower at work. If I had to go into an office, I would definitely need one of those.
Oh man, I need to give my foam roller some more action, too. It's pathetic. The knots in my calves are getting out of control . . . and yet, I'm lucky if I get one session in a day. Bad Irish.
P.S. LOVE the rando shower at work. That is just awesome. We apparently had one at my last job, but it was way down in the scary basement of the building somewhere. Just the thought of going down there freaked me out; forget taking a shower down there!
I am pleased to say I did not find your blog looking for boob loss. Although I would take some!
This was a fun post! I love that you have a Brooks Run Happy poster in your office and I'm totally J that you can run at lunch! If I ran at lunch I'd have to be a stinky mess for the rest of the day. Ew.
Keep stretching girl - you're doing all the right things!
I'm impressed by your foam rolling dedication. I need to be better about it.
Good luck with the 20 miler tomorrow!! :)
I miss A2.
That shower is random. Bonus for you though. Do your coworkers think you are weird because you are so dedicated to running? I hate when people make you feel bad for doing something that is good for you (because they aren't doing it and they probably feel guilty).
Have a fantastic 20 miler tomorrow!
Nice picture of the workstation. You've officially copied Nitmos' internet meme by posting a photo of his work cube (and hurridly copied by Zenia and myself).
Must feel great to be on the cutting edge! :)
Your day sounds almost like mine! Pretty much work and running related all day long!!
This was fun. You sure have a lot of dates with that foam roller, but it definitely pays off!
that's a lot of foam rolling! loved how the pose was EXACTLY the same in the before and after pic!
your days look much like mine :)
AND I think we have the same work shower!!! So random that thing.
I have been nervous someone would walk in on me taking pics of myself too LOL.
I talk a lot at work about how having a shower stall here would change my life. I live four miles from the office, so it would be perfect for me to run to work and run home. But not without a stupid shower. I can't handle a sink bath. I need to fully rinse off. So, you are very lucky.
First, holy moly you are dedicated to that foam roller girl! I need to take a lesson from you!
Second, so jealous you have a shower at work. I would go on WAY MORE lunchtime runs if I had access to a shower!
I love your search words, hahahaha! I definitely have gotten some ABSURDLY random search keywords pop up on my blog too, maybe I will have to follow your lead and put a few of those in a random post sometime!!
20 miles, good luck!!! How are you feeling? I hope that shooting pain has gone away. I definitely hear you on the prone to injury bit, I feel like I am ALWAYS getting injured and it's always so heartbreaking. I need to be better about foam rolling and get on a routine, I seriously procrastinate w/ that!
Awesome recap of your day!!! I love how your foam roller gets more action than Spike!
Almost through the 1st Dragon book!! Love it so far! You are right about the 1st part being slow and then really picking up! If I didn't have to sleep I would be through all 3 books by now!
That is fine, I'm not jealous. I'm saving myself until marriage. Plus, there is Mr. Pillow as well...
can't believe you foam roll 3 times a day, that is dedication! I only do it once a day after a run, maybe I should do it more often! great pics!
you have been up north too long if you think 41 is tshirt weather! :) hehe
i never considered rolling right out of bed, i always warm up some
Totally fun!! that is stinking awesome that you have a shower at work, and BTW-I have the same Cannon Camera as you (I think???).
The list of keywords is funny!!!
I love this! And I'm seriously so jealous of your random shower. My coworkers would prob appreciate it as well! I'm doing this. For shizzle. Just need to pick a good day!
Good luck on the 20 miler!! 3 weeks 'til Martian!
Bahahahahaha, I am literally LOLing at the searches used to find your blog. That is awesomely creeping!
What do you do for a living?
Good luck on your 20 miler tomorrow and your search words are too funny.....I must have missed those exciting posts ;)
I LOVE your post idea. Very fun. As for the random shower, they seem to be scattered around towns in the strangest places sometimes! Good luck on the 20 mile run tomorrow!
so many things i love about this! the frequency of the foam roller, "clearly i wear a padded bra at work", your desk, all things that make me love you more of course.
Fun post! I'll play along this week!
poor spike. although, can he really compare to the size of that foam roller?!?
this was fun i might have to copy too. i'm still jealous you wear jeans on the regular. i need a new job!
when are you going to post the itbc pics?
I love that you have a shower at work. I really wish I had that. I'd probably run everyday at lunch. I used to have a boss who had a private bath with a shower but the shower was never used and I never asked if I could use it - since he probably would have thought I was weird. I also use the foam roller as much as you. Foam roller first thing in the morning, then run, then foam roll again with stretching. Then foam roller again before bed so three times a day. It used to hurt like hell but not I'm used to it. I also use the TP therapy one that is hard and feels great! The regular foam one broke down in 30 days I used it so much!
those pretzel nubs ARE crackishly delightful!!
What kind of protein shake is that on your desk? Would recommend it?
The picture of RJ in the corner on your desk made my day :)
And I liked the before and after dress pictures, and your boob loss, totally random about the shower but score you can even run when it gets warm then....and can never leave that place just for the shower alone!!!
LOVED this! So fun :) The business-turned-runnerd pics are priceless, haha. And omg, your dedication to that foam roller is nothing short of impressive....poor Spike (lol)
This is such a sweet run-down of your day! Super-jealous that you work in an area where you can run over lunch. My area is pretty dangerous and not very nice at all :(
Hope you're having a great week!
Redhead boob. That's obvi how I found you.
