Remember last week when I boasted about not letting the weather stop me from running outside? Well I found myself in a bit of a situation Thursday; When I went to gear up for my pace workout I discovered I had forgotten my sports bra! What's a girl to do?!?! I mean sure, I'm a card carrying member of the I.B.T.C. and all, but I still need some support and the idea of wearing my regular bra put all sorts of visions of chaffage in my head. So I did what any resourceful social media loving blogger would do and hit the social scene for some input:

First up, Twitter:(Click the pics to read larger)

Hand bra? Packing Tape? Duct Tape? Saran Wrap? Um, thanks but no thanks.
So then I decided to hit up Facebook:

Better advice here from the ladies (Sorry Ken, but unless you wear a manzier you're not allowed to have any input in these matters!) but I decided to hit up Dailymile while I was on a roll:

Survey says: I should've (wo)manned up and just worn my regular bra but in the end I was too much of a pansy and hit the dreadmill instead for the first time in ages after work properly supported in my sports bra. (Outside was not an option as it was dark and icy. A combo I'm not comfortable with.)
I know this seems like a rather random post (Well not really since y'all know I love to talk about boobs! Or lack there of any way...) and for all intents and purposes I got the answer I was looking for but I really wanted to see what the rest of you think about the matter. Have you ever found yourself in this situation? What did you do? Did you rock the regular bra or tape 'em up with some duct tape? Do you really think one could run a workout while holding them?! Leave your stories below!

I would have done the same as you. I don't think my regular bra would offer enough support for me... and then what would I wear the rest of the day at work? It'd be far too sweaty to wear after a run.
Well, since 'runner boob loss' has my name written all over it...I would just wear my regular bra and would go 'commando' up there for the rest of the day. Yep...I'm that shabby. ;)
I did this the other day but it was just a regular 7km run so I just wore my regular bra. The extra jiggle was a bit unsettling at first but no chafing and I still got to run.
I have nothing to contribute. Instead, I give you ascii boobs of various sizes.

I've been there. I just wore a regular bra and hoped for the best for the rest of the day. Even as a fellow member of the IBTC, there's no way I could run with no support!
I keep spare clothes at work(my lunchtime running place) because of this very issue. I have done more than one run in a regular bra. Not my favorite choice, straps sometimes slide down, random shifting etc, but I will rarely give up a planned outside run if I can avoid it!
this post kills me, love it
Guuuuurl, I could probably run with no bra and be fine, but I have done the regular bra thing before when I forgot my sports bra. I had no issues and it was only a 5 mile run so I didn't even think about chaffing. I was more concerned about getting my pretty bra all sweaty! LOL!
BTW, the blog looks AWESOME!
You had me at boob talk.
The only time i have ever run without a sports bra was in high school bball. My teammate forgot her sports bra so we traded and I wore her slinky little bra - it wasn't a underwire bra or anything but not a sports bra. It wasn't that bad because I wasn't that big but not something I would want to do every time!
I forgot my sports bra once. Luckily, I live close enough to my work that I just ran home and got it. I couldn't run in a regular bra - I have D-cups and that would equal some big pain. My sports bras are all a size too small to smoosh them even more. Plus, all my regular bras have underwire and I can just imagine the sheer pain from chaffing.
Run on.
Pansy!
Hey, we guys have the same issue of support just in a different area! I've broken jock straps!!!!!
I would have done the same thing as you. I wouldn't have been worried so much about the chaffing and more so about the bouncing around. The ladies need support. On the funny side, I have tried sports bras that don't offer enough support and have resorted to handbra mid run. :) Glad you still got your run in even if it was on the dreaded dreadmill!
I actually went out for a run and didn't realize that I had on a regular bra till I was on my way back!! Guess that tells you I'm not super endowed! LOL!
I couldn't go camando as I sleep in a sports bra even w/ my tiny A's. With your track record of forgetting stuff example - undies, bra... You should have a runners emergency bag in your trunk! Take your old stuff that you wouldn't miss but would serve the purpose if needed! lol YNYARW you don't have a weather emergency bag in your trunk, but you do have a runners emergency bag! lol
Haha, I.B.T.C!! I love it!
There have been a few times when I've run while wearing a "regular" bra, but I'm barely a 32A, so I didn't have a problem. I can't tell a lie, though--9 times out of 10 I'll just wear a sports bra during the day, anyway.
i can't leave the house w/o a bra on let alone run without one. i guess i would have worn my regular bra but that would have been miserable.
a friend of mine one time had to run a marathon in a regular bra b/c she was out of town and didn't realize it till race morning. she was torn apart.
I forgot one for a work run one time and I was going to bag it but then my coworker offered to lend me one that she had stashed at her desk. Well, let's just say our tatas are not the same and it made for an interesting run...
HA HA ! I'm famous on your blog! Hold em with your hands, that's what I say! :) I have to wear at least one if not two or maybe even 3 because I have lumpy gym socks. Don't ever get old, it sucks!
I think I would have had to wear my normal bra.
I try and keep my sports manzier separate from my work manzier at all times. I suppose either would work, but I'm just funny that way.
Can't say I blame you... though I have no run in an under wire bra TWICE myself. :P That reminds me, I need to blog about my most recent debacles....
If I was half as dedicated as you are, I probably would have just done it. Since I am not as dedicated as you are, that would have been a perfect excuse to NOT run. :o)
SOOOO FUNNY!! how did I miss this??
Happened to me....
Wore my regular bra for 5 miles....
No issues....
UGH!!! That means I have ZERO up top.. but hey it worked... and I was sweaty the rest of the day..
Another reporting from the I.B.T.C. I would have done the run later too. Since I am still nursing (yes he is 2 years old people get over it!) I know that I won't have tried it but even when I'm runner-boob-less I feel like I am worried about my boobs and not my running form. So I end up cutting short and not getting a good workout anyway.
all i know is this post is greatness...
Never had that problem. I would have probably done the same thing you did. I'm usually ready to be rid of my underwire by the end of the day, so running in it just doesn't sound fun.
Love the boob talk!
i would have does exactly what you did. it's not worth it to get my nice vicki's bra all sweaty and gross. i know that running on a 'mill sucks...but i'd rather that then a stinky bra!
Aaahahahaha, um confession? Yeahhhhhh I definitely found myself in that predicament last year, so what did I do? I duck tapped the ladies. It worked great (fantastic support!) until the tape started chafing like woah. Yeaaah, not so great. But a funny story, right?
I've gone out and BOUGHT exercise clothes when I forgot them and couldn't make it home. But, I like any excuse to buy more clothes.
This is hilarious. I say run with the regular bra if the alternative is the treadmill. But then I used to keep a full set of workout clothes a desk drawer, just in case I forgot something at home.
Meh. Run with regular bra & see how it goes! :)
I've definitely forgotten the bra! I attempted to go supportless and let me tell you I made it about 1/2 mile. Ouch!
LOL! Gotta love social media!
That has happened to me before and I had to ditch the workout (mine are just too much to use a regular bra :( )
dude i've worn a reg bra before when i forgot my sports bra. and i have a little more bounce to my ounce than you. you def should have womaned up! :)
No young man offered to be your hand bra?
Ahhh ... catching up on my reader for the first time in months. Can't believe what I've been missing out on! I guess this is the female equivalent of not wearing the right drawers. Good call on the easy treadmill run.
I'm cracking up at these comments. There's no way in heck I would attempt anything other than an easy treadmill run without the right gear for the ladies. Even as a card carrying member of the IBTC, I'm not tempting fate--I had a dance teacher who once would not let us into class unless we all had sports bras--I guess it's forever seared into my mind. HA!
