- You know you're a runner (living in the North) when... even though by most standards it's a perfectly crappy day out (gray, overcast, slushy, puddle-tastic), you still find yourself thinking it's a great day to run because you're not wearing a jacket and the snow is melting. (Until tonight when we get 2-5 more inches... FML is it Spring yet?!??!)
- Self Control... I don't know what my deal is but I've been falling off the healthy train at the end of every single day this week! I would be doing so good and then I'd get home and mindlessly raid Spike's candy bowl. This is completely out of character for me when I'm training. I typically swear off all things unhealthy until I've ran that little 26.2... and THEN I eat my weight in chocolate-peanut-butter-y goodness! This Redhead needs some serious self control!
- Favor... Ok so this is kind of an odd request but the Half Marathon I'm doing in April is famous for it's incredibly ugly shirt and today they posted on FB that if they could get up to 1,000 followers they'd release the shirt art. Will you do me a huge favor and go "Like" their page? If for no other reason than to see if this year's shirt can top these "gems":
Come on, you know you want to see if they could possibly be any worse than these!!!

Ah, yes, the Martian. I'm thinking of maybe volunteering for this!
I'll have to take a picture of last year's shirt because as ugly as those two are, last year's was worse. Those at least are semi-artistic. Last years we just poop.
And now I just went to their Facebook page. Last year's shirt was white with the logo used in their profile picture. I guess it isn't hideous, my shirt was just WAY too big so I have never worn it.
If there was a candy bowl in my vicinity, it would not stand a chance! I have will power only in a very controlled environment. I think it's the weather... just makes you want TREATS!

My parents live in Ann Arbor and I almost came home to run this race, but then the shirts scared me! Kidding! There ended up being a half the exact day right in nyc which was much more convenient!

I was disappointed in how normal the Martian shirt was this year, but it's still my first half and I've been wearing it proudly. I just wish the front and back glowed in the dark to make up for its plainness.
