Favorite run: Honestly it's been a great month full of awesome runs! Too many runs with the girls, in Florida with Harold, and mid-day with Fabulous to choose from...
Least Favorite run: The Put a Fork in Me! 5 miles I ran earlier in the month in at some points 4"-8" inches of snow following a winter storm with Fabulous. I've never been in so much misery; it was a grueling struggle of high knee'ing my way uphill in snow drifts knee deep and fumbling along rutted un-cleared sidewalks and paths.
Most hardcore run: Hands down the 12 miler I did with Jess last weekend in below 0 temps with winds to boot! We EARNED that hardcore stamp for sure!
Race(s): Frostbite Marathon Relay
Current Reads: (Reading) The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson - Can.NOT.put.it.down!!! (Finished) The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - It started out kinda slow because there was a lot of background to cover but OMG I am SO glad I stuck with it!!!
Current Shame-Inducing Guilty Pleasure: I've been pretty boring lately, sorry guys.
Current Obsessions: Dannon Lit & Fit Orchard Pear Yogurt. Who knew pear could be so good?!
Current Drink: Besides chugging water like it's my job, I am FINALLY enjoying my Bolthouse Farms 50/50 Berry & Whey Protein Recovery Drink. It only took me like 3 months of choking down the stuff to start to tolerate the taste. The things I do to be healthy...
Current Song: Kei$ha - "We R who we R" - As much as I try, I just can't stop loving her music.
Current Wish-List: Life is nothing short of awesome right now, no wishes needed at the moment!
Current Need: For the Spring to arrive! This Florida transplant needs some more Vitamin D in her life!
Current Triumph: Braving the conditions all month long and not once being sent in to the dreadmill!
Current Bane of my Existence: My angry, angry ITB from all this uneven terrain.
Current Goal: To continue having a blast and running uninjured until Spring and May 15th!
Current Indulgence: Those delish Cranberry Oatmeal Peanut Butter Bars Jason put on my Athlete's Plate menu. So frigging yummy, I've already made them twice!!!
Current Blessings: As always my family, friends and Spike... and surviving my first winter running season so far.
Current Excitement: My new couch FINALLY being delivered tomorrow and only 15 more weeks!!! Yay!!!
How'd your January shape up?!?!

What a great month of running for you! I'm stuck in Canada and much like you, I cannot wait for warmer days and the chance to run in as little as possible.
My IT Band is also currently the bane of my existence and it's taking all the power in the world to keep it under control!
Best of luck in February and I look forward to your recap.
You've had a great January! I'm here in Orlando and although it isn't snowing, I'm looking forward to warmer weather. Can't wait to hear about your February!
congrats on a great month, sista! i just cannot get into those "the girl" books, i tried! maybe i try again, just for you.
Great month! I love your format!
Sounds like you had a great January! I've heard the same thing about those books from others. I think I'm going to have to give them a try sometime soon. Stay warm!
Look at me, I'm an overachiever because I ran 5 hill workouts when I only planned 4. Showoff.*
*said with love
@Spike....I think you got that backwards. ;)
My January is no where NEAR as exciting as yours.. I won't bore you :)
@Andre - Thanks and way to call Spike out! LOL!
@Spike - Look at me I don't know how to read*!!! :P

This is true and not true. The Redhead was telling different tales before I posted a comment. Her lack of clarity and confusing arrangement of to do/done (and not the normal way of done/to do) should also carry some of the blame.*
*said with affection just less than love, and maybe a little bit of spite.
We need Redhead Running shirts!
Love the bf/gf banter! lol Great month babe and Ill be missing you on my long runs!
Hope the ITB settles down.
I LOVE those books. And so true about the first one. Luckily my brother told me it was slow to start. So worth the wait!!
I always love your recaps. And your redesigned header is awesome!
Kesha...can't deny she can make me move my feet a little faster! Love the new header!
Congrats on never being forced inside! I have only done treadmill runs- I can brave the cold, but not the darkness...can't wait until it starts to stay light longer and get light earlier!
Yay for January! :)
I see a treadmill in your immediate future.........
that's my current song too!
I love your books addition to your recap since I am such a reader. I read the "Lace Reader" thanks to you and loved it. I enjoyed "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo." Haven't started the second one yet it's still sitting on my book case. LOL When you get a chance you should watch the movies the foreign version. I saw the first one and it was pretty awesome. Keep up the good work!
congrats on a great month! i love the addition of the "most hardcore run" and i always enjoy the "current reads" also. AND i love the new banner :)
I am warning you now, if you have not already done so, before you pick up "Girl Who Played With Fire" again, get the third and final iteration because you will want to start it immediately after finishing Fire...
Learn to embrace the treadmill for you shall quickly question your decision to move back to MI.
Spike must totally be worth it...
Great job in January! You are inspiring.
I love the Stieg Larsson books. have you seen the movies? You can watch them instantly on Netflix.
January started strong, slumped in the middle (yay, moving 2 states away!) and then picked up strong at the end! I'm hoping this keeps up, though I'd appreciate it if the temps got above 0 today so I could get outside!!
Stay strong, spring will be here soon. (Or so I keep telling myself, anyway...)
Have a great day! Happy February!
awesome month girl! i read that entire series in like 2 days. They're fantastic.
Seriously.....Kei$ha???? I just don't know about you!!!
but love the banner and proud of your hill workouts
It's supposed to be 79 later this week :) :)
Okay, I am definitely going to have to steal a few (more) of these. Awesome!!
And I love the new blog design!! You are totally running exactly like your little logo runner in that pic. Fantastic!
LOVE the Stieg Larsson books - I've just finished the third one. BTW - and I hope other posters read this!!!! - you need to rent the movies. They are Swedish movies but they are true to the book(s) - I've seen the first two and anxiously await the third one. Hollywood is remaking The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo but I do NOT see how they can even compete with the Swedish versions. I rented them from Netflix and read the subtitles - I can not stand when the words do not match mouth movement so I didn't listen to the English version. Finish the books first OR read a book, watch the movie, read next book, watch next movie, etc. Wonderful!! Also - GREAT month running & training. I live in MS so it's always raining here so I run in the gym on the tread mill :-)
Hardcore 12. Freaking. Awesome.
And
Ummm
"put a fork in me". Seriously?! Sounds. Horrible.
umm. your couch took awhile to come in. did you have to wait for them to grow the trees and cotton for it? sheesh. an excellent month my friend.
Wow! Awesome month. And I hear you on spring. I live in Boston and have NEVER seen anything like this in my life. I'm so over it. Ready for spring.
And I hadn't thought about the uneven terrain being the cause of my ITB pains...good to know.
Love the new look! Great start to the year, are you going to run Chicago?
RHR,
Wonderful re-design of the site! The banner pic is bad-as$ too with the toto (sp?).
This seems like a ton of cool metrics to analyze your month around. Which reminds me that I need to do a recap of how I've done in relation to my goals.
Thanks for the reminder!
Love the new blog look!!
Thanks for the recommendation on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I have all 3 books sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read but I haven't been motivated to pick them up. I WILL now!!
You are a running machine!
