Jill of Run with Jill hosted the Ultimate Holiday Gift Exchange this year and a few days ago I received a mysterious package in the mail via ZombieRunner.com Clearly my Secret Santa is awesome! Anything from Zombie Runner is bound to be some kind of runner porn so imagine my surprise when I open up my package to find this awesome stash:
That's a DynaFlex Mini Sports Massage Power Roller, some RED Nathan Wrist Rockers (Someone pays attention around here!), and a hele hele akabill amulet. The amulet is made by ultramarathon legend akabill of Hawaii. He began making amulets for special runs on the mainland, sharing them with people he liked and people he felt needed aloha. The amulets began to take on special meaning, as runners wore them for good luck in races. "hele hele" means "go go" and is part of an exuberant Hawaiian song which reminded my Secret Santa of my personality. This guy is good. Yup I said guy. This guy:
Yes siree peeps, my Secret Santa is none other than the infamous Jamoosh, although the card said it was from Jamoosh & Lady J so maybe it was all Lady J? I kid... I know this was all Jamoosh and the attention to detail was not lost. If you don't already follow Jamoosh you should, he is absolutely hilarious on the regular, posts awesome pictures like the one above, loves beer, his wife and can always be counted on to post and give really great advice about training. He's ran 18 marathons to date and currently training for his next conquest so the man knows what he's talking about which is why I've gone to him for advice myself.Thank you so much Jill for hosting the exchange and extra special thanks to Jamoosh for the incredibly thoughtful and awesome gifts! They will all be put to very good use!!!
As an aside my gift should been en route to it's destination so if you haven't received a gift yet it quite possibly could be because you got stuck with me as your exchange partner... :)

I wouldn't think anything less of Jamoosh!!!! I got mine in the mail yesterday but I haven't opened it yet- the suspense is killing me but I wanted to wait until I mailed my own gift out- fair is fair, right???

Been to Alpena but not for a long time. Golf - but it's kind of cold for that. My suggestion - rent snowmobiles! If you can't find any there, head to Gaylord and you can rent them there. Lots of fun. I miss upnorth. Closed the cottage this winter and I'm missing it. Have a great time. Bring extra clothes for running to keep you warm.
