It's been quite some time since I've done a "Tuesday Tribute" and given my lack of running lately you might question the who/what/why this tribute is even occurring for in the first place. Well dear readers this "Tuesday Tribute" is dedicated to you for always being there for me whether I'm knee deep in a marathon cycle or xtraining my way through an injury. Your overwhelming support and encouragement since I accepted my fate and canned my marathon/BQ dreams right on through enduring the last 3+ weeks of my non-running related, far too much schmooping and xtraining woes posts, has really helped keep me going on the days when I wanted to give up and wallow in my own misery.
When the going got tough I would think about how much ya'll believed in me and I would push on, even while aqua slogging! Yesterday as I finished my first run in over three weeks my first thought was how I couldn't wait to jump on to Daily Mile and let ya'll know how it went. For those that missed it, I ran 3.4 miles in roughly 32 minutes and felt great! All the xtraining really worked and I didn't feel winded in the slightest! My legs felt fresh and I could've easily run further but I didn't want to push it my first time out. While the run itself went great I had a few FAIL's leading up to it;
FAIL #1 - I forgot to charge my Garmin and it died 1.3 Miles in.
FAIL #2 - I ate pizza for lunch. Can we say heart burn!
FAIL #3 - Living off Publix cookies my entire Florida trip was not the smartest idea ever.
FAIL #4 - Hydration? What's that? I didn't drink a drop of water the entire day and paid for it dearly during the run. Who forgets to drink water? This idiot. So. Thirsty.
Speaking of hydration, let's get back to the topic at hand shall we? I did say this was a GIVEAWAY of thanks so to celebrate my love for you I have collaborated with CafePress, of unique gift and T-shirt fame, to giveaway a SIGG Water Bottle! These safe and durable aluminum bottles are great for the gym, on the bike, to stay on top of hydration anywhere (I could've used this on the flight home from Florida yesterday!) and so much more! You can find millions of personalized water bottles at CafePress - for any topic, interest or brand! Can’t find the perfect SIGG design? Custom create your own! Just think of all the possibilities! Immortalize your finish line picture, your pet emu or your favorite post race indulgence....

I absolutely heart CafePress and have used their services for everything from customizing t-shirts to magnets. Last year B.o.B used CafePress to customize our Ragnar Relay Team "Half Nuts" shirts and they turned out great!
Now that you know what the swag is, here are the giveaway requirements:
(What? Did you think I was just giving this away? I love ya'll, but not that much!!! J/K!)
Leave a comment with why you could've used one of these SIGG water bottles to prevent a hydration FAIL of your own OR what bottle you would get if you won. (If you'd customize it what would you customize it with?)
That's it. Easy peasy. You have until Thursday to enter, the winner will be announced Friday via Random Number Generator. Now go forth and

Seriously? I'm first!? Argh! Those random number generators never generate the number 1! Oh well!
Even though I don't live in FL it can get hot as Hades here! And I've, on more than one occasion, thought I could get through a 6 or 7 miler with no aqua. No bueno - big FAIL all summer! I need to work on that!
Congrats on getting back to running! So excited for you!
Yay for the 3.4! I like the very last graphic bottle...and I need it because I live i Coastal Alabama!
My hydration fail was putting an overfilled metal bottle filled with water in the freezer. I just wanted a nice ice chunk, instead I came out with a crack down the side of the container.
Lesson learned, now I need to replace it :-D
This is a no-brainer! I could have used this during my epic hydration fail, aka the hottest long run in history .
And congrats on the successful run!
Ah, how funny, you had a living on cookies FAIL and I also happened to have a living on cookie dough FAIL recently. Lol. Glad we both called it quits on that! :)
I think everyone would be disappointed if I didn't say that I was going to get the run naked one. that one looks the funniest anyway!
SO awesome that you ran! I'm SOOO behind on DM. I get heartburn crazy bad too....always when I don't hydrate enough. Bleh
Hey Redhead! So glad you knocked out a run :) 3.2 miles is massive. I was doing a tough interval run recently and was trying to psyche myself up to do the tough part and I thought to myself "Dude, Morgan would kill to be at this tough part of a run, and she'd destroy it." I barely made it, but you helped give me the strength to make it... seriously, I thought I was going to pass out... it's just because I had done a bunch of core and weights before the run; yeah, that's it...
Uh, anyway, yeah, I'd get Nothing Is Impossible on my water bottle because, dammit, nothing is impossible.
Running is good, huh?
I looked through the site and I think I like the runner one that you posted the best because it is colorful.
Hydration fail? Well...I have a couple of stories to share, but my most recent fail was running a 5K race in nearly 100 degrees and 200% humidity. I had had maybe 3 glasses of water throughout the day. Before the race I had none. During the race I tried to get a cup at the aid station, but ended up throwing the water over my head. Not a good idea. Let's just say I felt a bit disoriented by the time I reached the finish line. Not a pretty sight. Lesson learned...big time!
And I love those water bottles! :)
First, congrats on your 3.2!! Even with a few "fails" (as you put it) it is great that you were running! wooo hooo :)
No amazing hydration fails to tell of BUT if I were to win this cool giveaway, I would have it personalized with a pic of my daughter getting HER first medal at her FIRST race this summer! She is now 23 months old and LOVES running! She is also my inspiration to live a healthy life each and every day.
OR
a picture of me when I was FAT (100lbs ago) as a second reminder of why I live a healthy life each day!! wait, naaaa, we don't need to see that!! Stick with the first one :)
Yay for running!!
I could have used the water bottle several times this summer since it decided to be uber humid all summer. I bonked on a 6 miler and only ran 2 and ended up walking back to the car with my tail between my legs.
Congrats on the run!
I want the water bottle because I am a nerd and a Cafe Press water bottle will make me soooo much cooler... LOL literally. As far as personalizing it I am fine with the one that says "runner." I just need something simple to remind me everything I have done to become a runner. :)
My biggest hydration fail ... that would be my first half. I barely drank the entire time because I didn't want to stop at the water stations. Yeah. Not good. I ended up totally sick, wasn't able to eat my post-race brunch and off work for two days.
Because I live in Orlando and you know how hot it gets here. And because you would not have to pay s/h because we live so close :-).

I should have used one yesterday, but instead (de)hydrated with two pints of Guinness before my run. Ooopsie...LOL!
Glad you are back running, hope everything stays pain free.
I could use the bottle while at work, having it set on my desk would remind me to keep drinking.
I love the post, it is very interesting too read. I love the bottles too...
Glad to see you back running.
Those bottles are great! I would pick one that makes me giddy for running while I am sitting one my desk at work...
I've never seen a bottle like that, that was personalized for running! I would definitely choose the last one - Runner!
I would personalize it with my name or monogram, or maybe a picture of me running with Girls Just Wanna Go Run under it! I'm not sure, but don't you worry, I would figure it out!
Yay on the run! Hydration Fail - Earlier in the summer, I set out for a 6 mile run at 3:30 PM in the afternoon on a super hot, super sunny 100 degree day...oh, and I don't run in any shade either. Since it was only 6 miles, I thought I could do it. Never felt so defeated in my life and desperately needed water.
I definitely had a hydration fail last year when I attempted 6 miles in the middle of a hot summer day in St. Louis. It ended with me taking a nap under a tree in the middle because the world got all woozy. I haven't made that mistake again!
tons of love on the running - HOORAY!!!
i would put my puppy's face on the front with his super long tongue that means - i'm thirsty! ha ha!
I'm 6 weeks post baby and I'm just getting back into the running thing. I hated not running for so long. I went on my first 3 mile run last weekend and about 1.5miles in I also realized that I was having a major hydration fail!! You are not alone in the "lets not drink water alll day and then go run" department.so that is what i would use my super sweet water bottle for!!:-)
I hate it when I forget to charge my Garmin
I'd probably have to put my favorite red headed runner's mug on the water bottle. ;)
glad you finally got a PAINFREE run in. Whoooooooo.
So glad to hear your run went well! Good luck getting back out there and pounding that pavement :)
I love the colorful "runner" bottle!
I'd probably have to do a custom bottle... and have it be something about my pregnancy. Because I love being pregnant!
Just started following your blog a couple days ago and am already hooked:) I would totally get a bison on my bottle. I am obsessed with them. in fact my blog title is 'sisterbison...running with the herd', that's how obsessed I am:)
Im so happy that you had a successful run!! I hope everything is feeling okay afterwards. ONWARD! Woohoo!
I love personalized ANYTHING. These are too fun. I have to say, I'm loving the "Will someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE turn this into Wine?!" lol!
I would get the "I run" bottle. It's short, sweet and simple.
I'm glad your run went well! I hope your recovery continues to go well.
I would use the bottle more at work. I'm the idiot who forgets to hydrate, not you! Seriously, you'd think I'd learn ... I don't even drink soft drinks, I just forget to drink. So, yeah .. .I'd keep it at work to remind me.
I'd probably just personalize it with something related to running or my name ... and oh, in pink! :)
Nice work on getting back to the run, run, run without pain! I love Sigg water bottles. Most of the time I'm pretty good about hydration, but occasionally I went out this summer on a 7 mile or so run and found myself in 95 deg heat dying of thirst. FAIL. I would get some cute bottle that said "I am runner. Hear me Roar." It sounds kind of cool, right?
yay for being able to run again! :) I really really like the last bottle with runner on it! :D
I try my best to keep hydrated. Fun bottles always make it seem easier! :) I love the bottles you featured, but I would customize one for my running club -- GYRO (Get Your Run On).
Yay for running again! Good for you for taking it easy even though you felt good.
I have a hard time staying hydrated on the evenings/weekends when I am not sitting at a desk all day. I LOVE the multicolour Runner bottle that you posted. It would help keep me hydrated at home and on the go!
I really need a new water bottle to bring with me to school. I really like the Runner one. So glad to hear you're back running
The offered free water on the plane, but you were sleeping so sweetly--almost like a zombie--and I couldn't make myself wake you up.
Oh, I better not be included in the giveaway, that would make it seem rigged.
Suh-weet!
Um I could totally use a waterbottle TODAY! Forgot mine and there's a 5 miler on the horizon...well, I'll just take swigs from other people's and hope no one is sick....
My hydration fail was a 1/2 marathon in early October 2007. The race started at 9AM and it was high 80's then. The water stops were spaced far apart. Luckily my sister came to cheer me on and I was able to beg her to bring me a bottle of water further along the course that I could carry with me. It was my most miserable 1/2 ever!
I need this water bottle because it is awesome!
i need the sigg because I didnt drink any water today either and i'm parched. ;)
I'm a little nervous to read your next post after your latest status update on Facebook =(
I would get the Runner bottle or get a customized Runner Barbie one. I need it because I am trying to cut back on my water bottle waste, but I sometimes forget to drink water throughout the day when I don't get a new bottle out in the morning. This would be the perfect solution.
I missed a PR in the half last November because I under hydrated the week of the race. Missed it by 40 seconds! :(
I love the last one! I've definitely learned my lesson about the importance of hydration after blacking out at the end of a 20 miler in 95% heat last summer:(
I am always drinking awter. I'm always thirsting. I have to drink a lot while runnning, or I can't breathe afterwards.
I could have used a sexy Sigg bottle during my first relay leg at the Green Mountain Relay in June, when it was about 90 degrees, and I had eaten an entire pizza and drunk two pints of beer about 2.5 hours before I ran.
Oops.
I have one SIGG - a BIG one - and would love another so I never have to buy bottled water when walking around town!
I like the runner SIGG - super cute. But, 'do what you love' is funny!
ps. I wrote about you in my post today!
I would customize mine with the motto from our Ragnar van, "Run hard, Pee Clear"!
Hmmmm I drink water all day at work but am not great on the weekend, so I could use this for Weekend Hydration.
Customize??? Tall Mom on the Run, yes dorky but no one would steal my bottle.
Oh no. I swear I'm always the last person to comment.
Let me see here....customization....I'm no good at this custom thing, but I think I like the last one you posted with all the different colors.
I could have used the bottle during my first run in SE Asia this past week. I headed out at 7:45am - 84% humidity and 80+ degree weather. I was dripping wet and in need of water five minutes into my run. It was a complete fail.
I would love to win the Runner bottle. Despite running for almost 11 months now I'm still struggling to picture myself as a "Runner". (It makes me smile whenever I do though!). This would be a great daily reminder.
