Monday Mash

A quickie post cuz its going to be a crazy week at work:
  • Saturday a.m. I did a little of this:

    Details HERE.

  • While Spike did a little of this:

I can't decide what is worse, the outfit or the fact that his knees are about to smash into the handle bars of my child size bike? Either way it was fun to have him be the Sherpa for once.

  • Then we went and did a little of this:

Our tailgatin' wasn't quite as exciting as Adam's but it was def a lot of fun and the game was EPIC!!!

If there's a Flamingo I will find it!

  • Sunday I rested up the legs by spending the day visiting family around the greater Mid-Michigan area

  • Today I arrived home from work to find this had arrived:

Clockwise: Cover, First Half Marathon w/ race recap, Muddy Buddy Page, Chicago Marathon Pages including race recap

My "Road to the 2009 Chicago Marathon" photobook I created on Shutterfly! After spending months working on it, I was so excited to see the finished product. It chronicles from my first 5k through to the Chicago Marathon. I plan to store my bibs inside and the best part is that I was able to include select race recaps! It totally inspired me as I set out for my next run...

  • 3.75 M - 35:58 @ 9:35 P/ Based on another successful run I have decided to raise the enthusiasm level to: Hopeful.
    Next run Wednesday... *Fingers Crossed*

Yay for being hopeful! Try some body glide or vaseline on your arch to keep the blisters away. Good luck with Wednesday's run.

Great work on the run. Lucky you for having a sherpa. Does he hire out?

Totally stealing that enthusiasm levels pic, just so you know. :-)

Awesome job on the run. Sounds like the inserts are helping.

Your book looks amazing! I am sure it will inspire you and even better record your journey.

Your biking sherpa needs dressing lessons from mine although you might not want a 23 yr old chicka dressing your man...he'd be half naked. Then again....;-)

great chart, lol. i LOVE those books! i always wish i had done something like that. I have pictures, i suppose i could go back and chronicle my running history but digital cameras weren't invented yet when i started, but that doesn't matter bc i can scan photos i suppose. Love the books, i'll have to look into that

Glad your back at it lady! Those books are awesome! I need to do that! :)

You could have made Spike a shirt out of his old shower curtain and it would have been about as fashionable as that dorky outfit he's wearing there.

There was entirely too much Sparty in this post. Go Blue!

Dang, I don't want to ruin the surprise, but Spike better be getting a bike for Christmas.

is that MI state gear? maybe it's a good thing we never met up. it would disappoint andy that i was chatting w/ a state fan! (he's a UM alum!)

Great job on the run! I hope that enthusiasm meter keeps going up.
Love the photo book! I keep meaning to do one, maybe you'll be the inspiration I need!

Yay for running!! I need my hubby to take pics of me running... Luckily he has his own bike.

I love the idea of a photobook to capture all of your races!! I think I might just borrow that idea...

Man spike looks great on that bike. Perfect fit.

Yay for running! That is a sweet book too - better (cheaper!!) than my bright marathon-memory idea (enormous poster- sized frames special made at michaels for a mere $300 each). Not to mention I will look seriously full of myself if I ever hang them up in the house!

Keep Spike around - a good biking sherpa is hard to find!

So glad the run went well! You'll be back before you know it ;) And that book is awesome - you gave me a great idea! Big hug to you!

I'm not the only one with a bike buddy!! Yay :) And...YOU'RE RUNNING! awesome.

That photobook looks amazing - what a fun memory to have. Might have to do one of those for the next memorable race...

I have NO idea why, but that picture of spike on the bike (rhymes!) cracks me up. Would have been better if the bike had a bell though. Brrinngggg Brrriiinnnggg

I don't know - you DID have a MSU grill. We didn't have anything like that at ours.

LOVE the enthusiasm level scale. Let's try to stay out of FML, k?

I love the book Morgan- what a nice keepsake!

PS- hope you can keep those levels out of FML!!

All that green State gear...made me dizzy.

That book looks pretty cool, and something I bet you will cherish as days go by. I already read my old race reports to reminisce.
