3 Things Thursday

  1. Saturday, in celebration of my cousins birthday, I'm headed to Frankenmuth, Michigan's "Little Bavaria" otherwise know as the home of Bronner's Christmas Store. (Bet you can't guess what locals really call it?! I'll give you a hint; put your head in the gutter and take out the "r." tosh.O, eat your heart out! LOL!) I haven't been there since I was like 13 so it'll be fun getting my nerd on with my cousin over all the Christmas crap.

  2. Sunday Spike is running the Brooksie Way Half Marathon so I'll be putting on my Susy Supporter pants once again to cheer him on as he tests his training for Grand Rapids. (Lucky bum) Are any of you Michiganders going to be there? If so let me know!

  3. Remember yesterday when I mentioned I couldn't wait for all the fun October was sure to bring? Well I just got an exciting opportunity to speak about social media at a conference next month for my company! OMG!!! I'm BEYOND excited! (and scared sh*tless.) Have I ever mentioned my fear of speaking in front of large audiences? Or that time I fainted during a choir concert? And during my cousins wedding? Um yeah, time to suck it up, put on my big girl pants and go rock it! WOOT!

What do ya'll have going on this weekend? Has anything exciting happened to you lately?

No, no, no, no. I forbid you to enter a Christmas Store. It is far too early. Is there even any snow on the ground? I thought not.

One of my (non-running) blog buddies was in Frankenmuth in January and blogged about it.

You should go back during next year's celebration :)

You will be awesome speaking in public, just start practicing by yelling at strangers.

I am SUCH a nervous public speaker. Seriously! Good for you! You'll kick ass!

Good luck to Spike at the half and have fun cheering!!

This weekend I have a girls' day on Saturday (day and not night because HELLO I have to get to bed early for my long run!), long-ish (taper) run Sunday then APPLE PICKING! Although, it's supposed to be near freezing so we'll see how that goes.

Have a good one, girlie!!

I have the Disney Wine and Dine 1/2 here in Orlando on Saturday night. 90 degree heat, running, beer, wine and grub. What else can you ask for? Ask Spike to get you a large jacket soon. I remember it gets cold in that Spartan area. My sister goes to Michigan State. Go Spartans!

Public speaking scares the bajeesus out of me but congrats on the great opportunity. I must admit I giggled a little at you passing out during a choir concert. Good luck to Spike this weekend!

It is way too early for Christmas! I saw the Christmas tree at Macys two weeks ago! Ugg.

This weekend I am pretty busy - two surprise parties and hopefully some running!

Fun fact--Wally Bronner (of said Bronner's Christmas Store) is my great uncle. I'm trying to get T there...he's never been there (*gasp*). Oh, and go eat some chicken;)

I used to be a nightmare at public speaking. Just forced myself to do it every single time, and now it's somewhat easier and less scary. However...my head still turns into a tomato within 5 minutes into the speech...that just won't change. ;)

I ran the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K in San Francisco last week and all I can say is P!NK RULES (but I look better in black *slimming*).

You do fine with the public speaking. Just imagine you’re in your underwear… Wait, no – imagine the audience in your underwear…. No, that’s not it…. Oh, imagine the audience naked… ewwwwww, that’s not right. Um, Good luck? ;-)

Have the best October ever.

All the best,

Ron

I'll be at Brooksie! (and the GR Marathon for that matter)

I did Brooksie last year as well and just left Spike a comment about the course. It certainly is a challenging one, but I'm sure he'll do awesome.

Cooooooooool. Social media conference would be really cool. You'll do great. If you think you are going to faint, make sure someone is there to video tape it - and then post it on your blog!!

I'm helping the situation, right?
