These monthly recap posts are cool! Although, I'm guessing you wish your August recap would have featured more miles. It's okay, you'll be back out there in no time.

My August was fun; started out recovering from San Francisco, our running club's season started back up, closed out with a strong 30-mile week and actually closed out the month with a great seven-mile run which I just finished :)

Anyway, get better soon. Damn you, leg gremlins...

My August went well. I'm in the middle of my training. I found having a longer training schedule allows for extra rest days (and I won't hate myself when I do).

Is Pillars of the Earth good? It's been sitting untouched on my bookshelf for way long.

STICK WITH IT GIRL! I knowww it sucks to be sidelined but you're a champ and will be running again before you know it. Have a BLAST in FL this weekend!

Did you like Snow? I started that awhile back and COULD NOT GET INTO IT. UGH! I hate not finishing books.

Leg Gremlins will go away at some point. Here's hoping it is soon! tosh.0 is one of my guilty pleasures too!

Remember, you asked! August was a 100+ mile month and I had several days of running pain-free.

Pillars of the Earth = one of my top 5 favorite books ever.

I discovered tosh.0 about a month ago and I now have TiVo set to record every episode that ever comes up. I love it that much. Maybe even more than the Soup.

I ran 1.75 miles HAMMY PAIN FREE this morning! It was a major positive development.

Irony: my word verification word is "hamboll." I've had enough of "ham" anything lately. you know?

You are such a trooper with the cross-training! I can see myself moping on the couch with a bottle of wine and lots of junk food. I hope you are rewarded for your patience with a seriously awesome run SOON!

Ken Follett spoke at my sister's graduation for 5 minutes. Seriously the shortest graduation speech I've ever heard. I honestly think he didn't want to be there.

Shake those leg gremlins! Sept will be better, no doubt :-)

I wish I was running GR, too!! (stupid football schedule...) I will definitely be running that at some point so a meet-up will be in order!

I love tosh.0!

Remember our little e-mail exchange of last week. All will work out for the best.

I had a great August. Grand total of 270.9 miles, with no major aches and pains. And a 5K lifetime P.R. to boot.....

Have fun in Florida. My whole August was spent in Florida so minimal running was done unfortunately but it was a fabulous month!

August, being the month after my first marathon (being a mountain marathon...I'm insane, I know...), turned into kick start training for the New York Marathon. And I'm starting to feel what that does to a girl's body...I'm ti-red! Just two more months to go. ;)

Enjoy Florida! :) And no matter how many miles you run; you still rock!

Do XT days count as rest days? Haven't you XT'd like crazy? Your August was my July. So I hope your September is a turn around, and mine too of course. Is Spike actually going on this trip with you or are you guys spending yet another weekend apart. Whoops I meant Schmoopy. Can't believe I used that other "S" word.

Spike said...

Oh, I'm going on that trip. Seems I need to stop complaining about this oppressive mid-west summer heat and go down to FL so I can complain about what hot 'really is.'

Dirty dirty 'S' word.
