3 Things Thursday

  1. Tonight I have a date. A blind date. With a Daily Mile friend. (Are we friends? We should be!) We're both working through injuries so we're going to commiserate over a cocktail. Yay for new friends! (Especially ones that live in the immediate area and run! Time to nerd out about running even if we're both only wishing we were.)

  2. Yesterday I hit the gym for spin class only to find that it wasn't scheduled until today. So rather than doom myself to another boring workout I hopped in on the "Workout with Weights" class. Lots of lunges, leg lifts and steps all while holding/doing various different weight exercises ensued. As the day wore on into night my body starting to ache in unexpected places and I slept horribly. When the alarm went off this morning I zombie walked into the bathroom where I proceeded to basically fall asleep on the toilet. That's about the time I realized maybe spin class wasn't such a great idea today. LOL! Rest day it is!

  3. Saturday is the CRIM 10 Mile, I was supposed to race but instead will be cheering on Spike from the sidelines. I'm not going to lie, its going to break my heart just a little bit to watch all the racers wanting to be running alongside them, using the race to test my training and snag a PR along the way... BUT I know that sacrificing it this year means that next year when I do toe the line I will be ready to rock! (Or at least this is what I keep telling myself...)

What do ya'll have lined up this weekend???

Ha, my older brother used to fall asleep on the toilet and we only had one bathroom! I'm going to miss the Crim also and as usual, it should be hot and humid. It's a great atmosphere, enjoy.

My bib number is 5009. I'll be slogging in probably after Spike is done!!!

Dumb legs. How did they handle the weight-ish class? Not tempermental about it?

Nice job falling asleep on the toilet. Not everyone can pull that off.

Good luck to Spike this weekend! Spectate around mile 8-9 and maybe you wont feel as left out. You can imagine how everyone is hurting and ready for the race to be over.

Have fun on your 'blind date' and at the race this weekend (as an encourager). :-)

I imagine it will be tough being on the sidelines for the 10-miler but you'll find some positives from it... hopefully. I would probably be in a worse place than you are if leg gremlins derailed my marathon plans, so you seem to be hanging in there well enough.

As for my plans, I'm doing 10 miles (hopefully) on Saturday, running alongside my bro for 8 of them - I'm helping him train for his first half-marathon, which I talked him into running :) Then I've got 5 with my running group Sunday. I'm liking these back-to-back weekend runs so far.

Although it'll be tough on the sidelines, at least you can still be somewhat a part of it by cheering others on!

Well, how does Spike feel about that blind date? ;) Have fun!

This weekend is long run time (if the Hip allows it) and I might throw in a cocktail or two. :)

I really need to add weights back into my training schedule. It's just hard finding the time.

Rest up girl!! I've got 13 miles for this weekend (yay for stepback week!). Let's see if I can survive! It's hot here. I'm over it.

And I totally nerd out on having runner friends, as you know!

Enjoy the blind date meet up.

My boss falls asleep on the toilet too but he's old. heehee

You'll be a great cheerleader! Enjoy encouraging everyone.

If you hadn't almost fallen asleep on the john (should that be capitalized?), then dove back into bed, I wouldn't have gotten up to do my temp run.

So thank you!

Yay for new friends. I LOVE daily mile!
Spectating when you are injured is always tough, way to have a good attitude about it though! Go Spike!
