- I haven't had a chance to tell ya'll about my Florida trip last weekend but let me just say that it made me so happy to see everyone! We had such a blast at Beaker Luv's b-day party and my 10 miler w/ Harold went surprisingly well considering I'm a month removed from the severe heat and humidity of Hades. (We had such a good run we even threw in a sprint at the end just for fun!) By the end of the weekend it was *almost* like I hadn't been gone... right up until I boarded the plane back to Michigan and got all homesick again. :(Here's a shot of all the girls, I heart them all so much!!!
- 10 Miles on deck for the first official long run of the training plan and not wanting to go it alone I hit up Sun Runner to see if she was up for it... she was, so we're hitting up one of her local fav trails that's halfway between us. She is also training for Grand Rapids and this will be our first official run date and first time seeing her since I relocated, I can't wait to catch up and nerd out about training!
- Most of you may remember the horrid shower curtain Spike made tribute to just before I relocated... Well it's been just over a month since I moved in and I have yet to be able to replace it with something more presentable because Spike and I made a deal; Once I got a job I could redecorate the bathroom as I saw fit and as ya'll know I have been plugging out resumes and going on interviews like my life depended on it. Yesterday I posted my June Recap/Stats where I listed my "Current Need" as "A 9 to 5" and shortly thereafter I got a job offer!!! I couldn't be any happier right now unless I just BQ'd Grand Rapids! LOL! To celebrate I went to Target...
... and when Spike got home last night this was how I let him in on the big news! "Operation Get a Job/Avoid becoming a Hooker" is a SUCCESS! I am now a gainfully employed Redhead! Thank you all for your encouragement over the last month or so!
So what do you have to be excited about this 4th of July Weekend? Any fun plans? Rock those races and long runs, catch ya'll on the flipside!!!

OMG! You're not gonna believe this but that is the SAME EXACT shower curtain that is in my master bath right now! I LOVE it! We registered for it (wedding) and my grandmother who passed away in Novemeber was the one who purchased it for us! It means so much to me!

As for my fun plans for the fourth, how does a 22-mile run sound? I was toying with the idea of calling it my 22-mile Fun Run but that's a stretch.

--10 year high school reunion/drinking
--Watching fireworks on the boat/drinking

Heatr & humidity is kicking my ass. As in, I want to die rather than run 1 mile. Instead, I have to run 18 (why did I agree to run an Ultra?) in this evil, evil heat.
No races for me this weekend, but the hubs is doing a bike race, so I get spectate for once!
