- Lankle Update: The exercises the MSU Ortho Specialist gave me to do seem to be doing the trick! I have been getting in some solid base training for Grand Rapids Marathon with little to no issue and am on schedule to start the training cycle at the end of this month! Three cheers for a behaving Lankle! Hip, Hip, HOORAY!!!
- Whilst running around the greater Mid-Michigan area I hit some hills on Tuesday. Naively I thought I could handle a 20 minute go at them per plan... 16 minutes later I wanted to die. Holy Hills Batman! These things here are the real deal and put my ol' overpass in O-town to shame! Me thinks I have some @ss kicking ahead of me...
- Spike and I finally get to play house this weekend and spend it together! First up on the list of "To Do": A run together Saturday morning! What else should we get into? What do normal couples do during the weekend? I seriously have no idea. 8 months of Long Distance doesn't prepare you for just being a normal couple!!! LOL!

FIRST!!
You could hit up Home Depot or Bed Bath and Beyond if you have time...(Old School, anyone??)
Hills are fun, aren't they? Oh, no, a normal couple weekend. Hopefully yours won't be as pathetic as ours! We rest from the week, hit up Lowe's for our next exciting house project and stock up at the grocery stores...and, well, that's about it. :-)
after a year and a half of long distance, andy and i had no idea what we would do when we finally lived together. but you fall into a routine so quickly that it's hard to remember what it was like before. :-)
If you figure out what normal couples do let me know. I've got 8 months of long distance coming my way in a few weeks too!
HOORAY! is right! I hope Lankle continues to behave!
Have fun this weekend!
sounds like things are improving.
enjoy playing house. I get to do that with hubbs this weekend at the new house! It's like a vaca from PA.
Have a good weekend with Spike! You two could go out for a nice dinner around town or maybe go to some interesting places in town? Idk. I do know that I usually just end up hanging out all weekend, unless we have something specific planned!
Glad to hear the Lankle is doing well!! And as to "normal" couples...I don't know, and I've been married for 5 years! Saturdays usually entail the hubby watching our toddler while I go run. :) And then we all stuff our faces with some brunch. I get hungry just thinking about it.
Yay, Lankle!! Good news :)
"Normal" couple activities..hm...drink coffee, have bfast, run/bike ride, relax, watch a movie or some'n, grocery shop ...ha, yup, that sums up our "normal" weekends ;)
enjoy it!
That's so true about trying to be a "normal" couple after doing the long distance thing for so long. I kind of felt the same way when my parents moved three miles away after we had been 2500 miles away for many years. The day to day stuff felt weird at first and then it just became the norm and I can't imagine life any different...
Have fun relaxing with Spike this weekend! It's fun knowing that you DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE WITHIN 72 hours!
Also... hills in MI? I just snorted. Come out and run in the Blue Hills. ;-)
So happy that the lankle is improving!!
Me and the hubbs did the long distance thing from when we started dating until the month before we got married. It was definitely weird to make that transition. You'll figure it out. And nothing beats a sunday spent snuggling in bed ... ah, life before children ...
Glad the lankle is behaving! Yay!
We are not a normal couple either, and we live together! We've been so busy training that we haven't had time for much fun lately, so I am determined for us to go do something fun together this weekend. You could go on a hike, geocaching, museums, theater, movies ...
Excellent news on the lankle! I hope it continues to behave as you begin marathon training! WOOT!
Awww, ave so much fun playing house. The beauty of it is, you don't have to do ANYTHING because now you have unlimited time together... you dont need to plan every minute to make the most of it. Just enjoy. :)
Walk through the gardens on campus after visiting the Dairy Store and then hit the patio at Peanut Barrel.
Yay for some solid runs this week girlie! I am really stoked for you ;)
And as for normal couples, I can't help you on that one! My hubbs has worked weekends our entire marriage up until last July, and now that he does have weekends off because he is in a new industry, this new one also seems to take his attention away on weekends! No winning! But...when we do have our Saturday's together - sleeping in and reading the paper together is a high priority!!
We hit up a farmers market. Get foods, enjoy a beverage on a patio, then get pissed when the weekend's over. Cheers!
Ice Cream from the Dairy Store, or lunch at Lou & Harry's, and a trip to Target!
Ha, what is normal???? Since we get so much summer here in the high-five state, fire up the grill and stay outside. It will be over before you know it!
Just stay in bed all day, watch movies and ya know....do things you couldn't do being long distance!!
Go to the movie theatre, get ice cream, go for a romantic WALK, play tennis, go hiking on those hills, make dinner together, drink wine on the patio, go to the beach.
So happy (and jealous) you no longer have to be long-distance with your man! XO
Oh, and have fun with those hills. Welcome to my life :P
Yay for the Crim!!! I'm excited!!!
YAY for a happy lankle. And for getting to "play house" this weekend. Enjoy your run!
i'm so happy for your scmoopiness. :D :D :D
Hmm what do we do on the weekends? We do some porch sitting if the weather permits, go to some sort of store (Target, grocery, furniture). The farmers market is on my list this weekend.
Im glad you guys get to spend this weekend together
Completely unrelated to your latest post, but I saw a news story on this a few days back and knew it looked familiar, but couldn't place it. Was catching up on blog posts and realized that you had put a picture of this statue in your pictures from your move.
Looks like you were one of the last few to see the 'Big Butter Jesus' status while it was still a statue. Got struck by lightning and looks a bit different now. Check it out: http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474978309363
those hills are gonna make you an even stronger runner one day!
have a great weekend!
yay for a low key weekend!!! :)
Hills are killer! Enjoy those relaxing weekends... couples don't always have to be doing something. But some things to enjoy doing would be hiking, shopping, cleaning, going to a coffee shop. My husband and I enjoy going to coffee shops with our computers and just sitting or going to a bookstore.
Whatever you guys decide to do, just have fun!!
That is so great about your ankle. Keep up with the exercises!
