While cliche, I am a firm believer of "Everything Happens for a Reason." My Lankle issues for example, better to have it now, when I have the time for it to heal then during my next marathon training cycle. Furthermore, a break from running right now might be a good thing, I can focus all my energy on all the changes that are going on in my life...
You see I am about to start a new chapter in my life. It's been in the works for a little while now but I haven't been able to talk about it openly until today. Today I put in my notice at work after having spent the weekend "spring cleaning" which was really just code for packing and purging. Last week I put new tires on my car and I have an upcoming appointment to get a hitch installed.
Have you figured out where I'm *going* with this yet?You see I am about to start a new chapter in my life. Well in case you haven't, let me spell it out for you: This Redhead is heading back to her motherland aka relocating North of the Mason Dixon Line. Soon.
I think I may have just peed myself a little finally admitting that out loud for all the world to know.
So I'm assuming you want the deets eh?
Well right about the time my grandmother passed away, I was dealing with other family related issues and there became a living situation issue. (You may recall some rather less than peppy posts and cryptic status updates during that time.) Long story short it was decided that the lease needed to be broken to solve the problem and thus I decided to move up North sooner than I had intended.
I say sooner than I intended because I had originally planned on relocating in October when my lease was up but given the situation, wheels were put in motion immediately. "Everything Happens for a Reason" and while wholly unexpected, the timing worked out and will ultimately make transitioning into the weather easier as well.
While I am extremely excited to start this new chapter of my life I can't help but feel bittersweet. On the one hand I will finally have my Luv in daily schmooping range and a whole new adventure awaits me but on the flip side I am leaving behind my Florida Family aka the Best Friends a girl could ever ask for as well as my B.R.A. peeps headed up by my beloved B.o.B. I am truly blessed, as ya'll have seen, to have an absolutely amazing support network here among my friends. They are and have been my family for the last 10 years and have played a key role in helping me find myself and become the woman I am today. They are irreplaceable, mean the world to me and are the only reason it hurts my heart to leave. *sigh*
With that being said please understand that I have a lot to do and very limited time to do it in. My time now must be entirely spent on finding a new job (anyone have any connections in the marketing field?), preparing for the relocation and spending as much time as humanly possible with my friends before I leave.
This means a blog hiatus is to be expected, although I promise to check in every "3 Things Thursday" at the very least until "D" day. Departure Day that is. Which is in less than 4 weeks. Holy sh*t.
On that note I leave you with my tag line, ironic how much I've truly made it a reality:
"Running is what you make of it, make it an Adventure!"
An Adventure indeed...

Wow. WOW!
I am sorry I couldn't get in touch with you this weekend, as explain it is just tough to do any real talking at home.
We need to talk soon though, I miss you!!!!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I was wondering if this was going to happen sooner than originally expected.
I can see how it is bittersweet, but so exciting on the LOVE front. :)
GOOD LUCK finding a job, tying off lose ends, preparing to move, etc. etc. etc. Wish I lived closer so I could lend a hand!
I'm happy and sad for you at the same time! I know you're happy to be closer to spike and family, but also sad to leave your running crew!
Oh my gosh, good luck with everything. That's a big change. I'm excited for you!
OK, connections in the marketing world, what do ya need?
Now I guess it's not nessecary for me to move to Florida after all ;)
so exciting!! when i moved out west to be with andy i had to leave friends and family which was so hard and i had less than 2 weeks to pack up my life. craziness for sure. but it was so worth it and although i ended up right back at home 3.5 years later, the change was exactly what i needed. enjoy your time with your friends but don't worry, you're never that far apart.
Good luck with the move! Soak up as much Florida sun as you can before you go. You'll need it. :)
You are right. Things happen for a reason. Good luck with the move and finding a job and staying sane! I'll be thinking of you! Hugs!
Wow, this is big news! Moving is often bittersweet but I wish you lots of luck on the newest leg of your journey!
Morgan, best of luck! That is a big change, but good things are coming out of it too. I hope the job hunt and moving go well. Best wishes!
I think Congratulations are in order!! Good luck on your new life!!! How exciting.
Awww....that's sad your leaving the sunshine. But you get to be closer to your family and the man of course :) Good luck with everything!
Congrats and good luck with your move! and now you'll get to cross-train in the snow this winter!
4 weeks away?! Hang in there. I am so with you on the "for a reason" statement. So true.
Best of luck to all your huge changes coming up! You're so strong I'm sure you'll transition well.
Oh wow, what an exciting change! Best of luck with the transition :)
I am so excited for you! And sad with you at the same time. I have been wondering if this was in the works =) I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find a job quickly and will look forward to Thursdays!!
That is so exciting!! I always love new adventures!
WHOA! I have to admit, I've been wondering if a "move" was in the works re:the long distance relationship ;) It's hard and obviously MUCH better to be close to the person you want to be with!
While I'm sure Id' be useless in helping you find a Marketing job, I'll send the GOOD VIBES ;) (ha, taht works, right?) and enjoy the last few weeks in FL!!!
Best of luck on this new life adventure. No matter what the move will bring blessings you could not have imagined. You will miss your friends, but they will always be close to you in spirit and it will be a great excuse for lots of getaways and meet ups!
I believe everything happens for a reason as well.
Good luck to you! A new place is like a fresh start.
Congrats on making the decision to make a leap and make a change. It takes a lot of courage but you will do great. Best of luck!
Good Luck!!!
We fun new memories to be made!
Going to miss you! It was good hanging on the beach with some brews this weekend one last time....just like the old days!
Congrats, good luck with the relocation, and how about the deets on the situation at home? inquiring minds and all...
wow, big news! bittersweet yes but exciting opportunites and adventures lie ahead!! best of luck to you!!
Wow! Congrats! Good Luck! And Hope everything moves along stress-free. Moving is tough, but I bet you are tougher. Can't wait to hear how much you love it, sans the weather change! =P
Sniff sniff, I love you girl, it will be great and you will find a wonderful job and get all the happiness that no one deserves more than you. You know I will always be here even if we are miles away. And I will be scoping out a place where you can move next door, and Riki on the other side in a few years :) Yup...a girl never stops dreaming!!!!!
Wow! What a big decision! I'm sure it will all workout well and it is definitely meant to be. Just think of all the new races to run! Let me know where you're moving too and I'll see if I know anyone who can help with job leads in the area. Have you thought about reaching out to Playmakers? Combine marketing and running!
Now I'm sure we'll get to run together sometime at MSU! Good luck with everything!!
good luck girlie! everything happens for a reason... good things await you. :)
Great job keeping such a positive attitude, this will be a good change for you but it's going to suck not being able to run together :(
Good luck with the move.
Stop the train - I promise I haven't violated the restraining order! It must have been one of your other stalkers.
I am so excited for you and your new journey! I remember talking with you about it not that long ago. How exciting and sad at the same time. Cherish the memories and time you have left there and enjoy the excitement!
Good luck with your move chica. I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog so I think I have enough material to keep me entertained while you're gone :) Take care!
Good luck with the move!! Things all happen for a reason, and with a positive attitude always turn out great :) Hope your injury is VERY short lived and you are back running very soon!
I had a feeling...
I had such a fun time when we ran together. I was hoping it would happen again as soon as you were healed.
This is very exciting news though!
Congrats on the move!
I believe that too...that everything happens for a reason. great outlook on something that could be very scary. and i think we'll all forgive you for misssing a few posts to take car eof yourself! good luck :)
Give yourself time to adjust and you'll fit into life in your new place quickly. Change is scary for a while but we all adjust well. I look forward to reading where the road takes you.
Good luck!
Wow! Good luck!
One thing is that it is better (weather-wise) to be moving up north in the spring/summer rather than winter. You can at least enjoy the nice weather!
Tear... But we know we will all be together again :) (except for in the winter- I am not visiting you in the winter. LOL) I love you!
Another Michigander in the bloggy world!!
I wish you the best and hope that your new chapter in life brings you the best, happiest things life could offer. I can't wait to read about your adventures!!!
I am a true believer in, things happen for a reason and God never gives you more than you can handle.
You are such a strong woman and I know you will end up right where you're suppossed to be!
Good luck girly and I'm sending lots of hugs and love!
waCongratulations and best of luck! Enjoy the ride :) Happiness is a journey not a destination
Shit. I knew I should have read this at work. At least that way when I started crying I could have used it as an excuse to go home.
I miss you already my friend, but am so happy for you and this next chapter in your life.
I love you Boo.
Best wishes on this upcoming chapter of your life...
Good luck!! HUGE change! I too left friends I pretty much considered family for the past 10 yrs and it was tough, but I made it through my first week ok! You can always look forward to visitors and trips back to see them. Things definitely happen for a reason and I can't wait to read more about this brand new chapter! I don't have any marketing contacts in Michigan but I can reach out to friends...email me with exactly what you're looking for. I do marketing and pr for an architecture firm but have contacts outside the industry.
How exciting! I wish you the best of luck with the move :)
Congrats and good luck with all your move prep! Saying goodbye is so hard, but staying in touch means you have so many friends to visit when Florida is nice and sunny while Michigan is bitter cold. It's the best of both worlds, once it stops sucking.
Exciting! Moving is so hard, but also very rewarding. Good luck with everything!
Congrats!!! If you'll be near Ann Arbor, I can check around with my cousin -- she's been working/living in MI her whole life.
At least you're moving in the summer...maybe the warm weather will follow you. GOOD LUCK with packing and moving. Sorry life has been a little tough, but I'm so happy for you and that you'll be closer to Spike!
You'll be missed, as you will miss them, but it sounds like the changes will be good!! Good luck with everything, we'll be here for ya when you come back!
Change is exciting...enjoy the adventure! Good luck with the new job...
Wow! Good luck with the move.
Wow Redhead! I am going through moving right now too but not as drastic as you! Hope you get everything together and are able to keep yourself sane! You will always be able to visit and it will be sad to leave B.o.B. but they will always be your friends and always be there for you!
i thought you got along with your roomie cause you always steal her clothes? or is this lease drama something else... you don't really have to divulge, i promise.
anywho. very exciting :) schmoopy 24/7. i always wish i was randomly moving, but i know i'd probly freak out if i ever really did.
That's definitely a lot you have going on! I will be thinking happy thoughts for you during this time.
I am happy you are keeping your blog. When I read the title I thought that meant you were killing your blog!! :(
Moving is definitely hard. But you will get through it.
Will it help if I say welcome back to the mid-west? I'm sure the running up here will be an adjustment for you!
sooooooooo exciting :) although yes it will be bittersweet to leave FL, it will be an awesome new chapter in your life <3 so happy for you! AND you will be closer to cali :) haha.
I'm sooo excited for you! Change is hard, change is scary but change is also good! This next part of your life will be amazing and you'll be sooo much closer to your man! Yay yay yay!
Saying goodbye is hard though. One of my best friends moved across the country recently and saying goodbye was SO hard. But, life happens for everyone. Good luck chicka! Can't wait to read all about this next phase of your life. Soak up that time with your friends - it goes by SO quickly!
way to take the plunge...change is good..and you are a brave soul...i certainly hope things work out for you as desired...
Best wishes to you, Miss Morgan!!! I know you will be a-ok. Change can be good. Be safe, have fun with your FL peeps and heal that Lankle.
Hugs!
once a midwesterner, always a midwesterner, yo! welcome back (soon!) :)
Happy that you could finally share your news. Sorry to see you go. :(
You will be missed here in Orlando, but not THAT far away, and I know Spike is happy. :)
How's your 5/22 looking? Southern Girl is trying to pull together a bloggy brunch, I think?
Wahoo! That sounds really exciting. I'm happy for you. I know it will be hard to say goodbye to your second family, but there will be lots of visits of course!
I've had to move a couple times after making some great friendships but those friendships will always be there for you, for that you are blessed! So glad your closer to smooches and good luck with the move!!
How exciting! Can't wait to follow your progression from Floridian back to Michigander! Oooh, no more getting up to try to avoid the misery that is a Southern Summer. It actually cools down a bit at night up yonder! Best of luck in your transition!!!
This sounds REALLY exciting - you know, except for the CRAZY cold winters part.
Having friends all across the country because of my stupid traveling lifestyle makes you put things into perspective. You honestly will lose touch with some FL peeps - but you'll soon realize that it is ok. If being close to each other was what held you together than it wasn't meant to be.
But, that is my $0.02
Wow! You have a lot going on! I've been wondering when you were going to pack up and go be with that boy of yours!!! :) 'Bout time! Best of luck in your new adventure. Don't let the stress of it all get to you!!!
Wow I'm gone for a week and so much goes on!! Congrats on the new adventure or should I say step in your life! This is quite a decision to think about and make and I know you made the right choice. I wish you luck in finding a job and getting settled in.
You're moving back to the Mitten!?! That's awesome we'll have to meet up for a run sometime! Good luck with the move, I just finished moving across town and was slightly stressed, can't imagine cross-country!
oHHHHH, I am so sorry to see you go but so excited for your future and the adventure that awaits you! Let me know if I can help in anyway.....you have my number!! I've missed you in bloggy land and so sorry I've been absent!! Headed into knee surgery this Friday and then hoping I will be out on the pavement in 2-4 months!!! Please keep in touch!!!
Congrats on the big move! I'm sure it was a huge decision. Its always so scary/exciting to do the cross country move but at least you have Spike in your new spot! I'm sure it will all workout wonderfully, just a little stressful getting it all done. I can't wait to hear all about it.
