3 Things Thursday

  1. I have returned from Boston and the trip can best be described in one word: AMAZING! The city was beautiful, the race was spectacular and I've definitely caught the fever... Beantown really knows how to put on a marathon!

  2. As ya'll can imagine, after being virtually unplugged for 6 days I am BEYOND behind on the reader... between getting caught up at work and putting together recaps, it's going to be awhile before I make my rounds.

  3. Speaking of Recaps, let's start with the Expo! This pic pretty much sums up Spike's view on it...

As for me, since it wasn't *my* Boston Marathon expo I dared not touch a thing. (Just call me superstitious) As for the expo itself, I gotta be honest, I wasn't entirely impressed. I thought it'd outshine Chicago's Expo by a long shot being THE Marathon and all but it didn't. Adidas definitely had a great set-up being the sponsor and even had a really cool display of Boston jackets through the years but overall I thought it was overcrowded and lackluster. Alas, Chicago has entirely spoiled me... but don't let me fool you too much, if it were *my* Boston Marathon expo I would surely have bought every single item in sight. :)

The real highlight for me of the expo was meeting up with 2 of my favorite bloggers; Ron of Punk Rock Tri Guy & Ally (my fellow Operation Jack runner/supporter and red headed sista from Texas) of The Shabby Princess

    I love his hair. :)

I was more than a little excited I was taller than her! LOL!

Alright ya'll, MUST get to it. Will have more later!

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Love Spike's take on the Expo ;) ha, and the blogger meet ups! SO fun. I'm not surprised at all the Chi-town spoiled you so much, but when it is YOUR boston, I'm sure it will be just as fun!

p.s. you missed a little transition of mine - just in case you don't recognize the new URL/blog ;) - formerly known as T.o.T. heh

Welcome back! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the trip.

I get what you say about being superstitious. I dont have it as a goal to run Boston one day but I feel strange wearing gear from marathons i haven't ran in. I have a hat for a marathon that is a great hat, perfect for running, but i just don;t wear it because I didn't run it. I know, kinda lame, but still... It's like I didn't earn that hat, you know? But I did earn my Surf City marathon tech shirt, which I'm wearing right now!

I was hoping we would hear from you soon! So glad you had a wonderful time.

TOo bad about the expo being somewhat disappointing... it was my first time being at ANY massive expo, so I felt like a kid in a candy store. ;)

Welcome home, friend. See you Saturday for Run for the Trees? We're headed to meet up with in-laws at WDW after that, or I'd say let's chow after race. Next time? Will see you though? Meeting up w/ another blogger there, too.

Sounds like great time in Boston!

HUGS,
robin/turtle runner/virtual mama!

i love how schmoops is humping the marathon pole. :) you guys must've been there extremely early for there to be no one else swarming the place.

i planted some grass at work today for earth day. as in... i threw down a handful of seed. then i was thinking man i should totally take a bag home everyday so i can re-seed my real front yard back in SC.

i hope you are recovering from the post-trip blues! i know i am struggling still myself.

Considering I only live an hour North of Boston I really should have come down to see the Expo at least. It's funny I was a rower in College, so to me the Marathon was a bit of an inconvenience (although really cool to go watch). Now that I'm a runner, it seems to be THE big event.

If I were Spike I would probably do the same thing to that sign...or maybe hug it and cry for joy...

Glad you had a great time!!!

You think you're bad about catching up on your reader. I'm just now getting to this post! Haha.... way to go Spike! Hump away on that pole!
