3 Things Thursday
Enough of this schmoopy crap, this is a RUNNING blog! (Sorry for that ridiculous display of moo-shay... sometimes I can be SUCH a girl. I promise to stick to the script from here on out.) With that being said, let me tell you how I cranked out 6 hill repeats on Monday night IN THE RAIN! (I didn't even wear a visor or poncho or carry an umbrella either!) Ya'll know how I feel about the rain; I.HATE.the.rain. I think this qualifies me for the hardcore stamp or at the very least a gold star.
In the spirit of the season, and all this new found schmoopiness, rather than destroy my old Nike+ I have passed it off to a fellow Floridian & runner/blogger Christy over at It Just Looks Like Slow Motion. (Who just so happens to be hosting her first giveaway!) May it serve you better than it did me, which it will out of spite I'm sure... well that and you'll probably be better about calibrating it after races & long runs...
12 Miler on Saturday and I was able to recruit Irish Cream to join me! Last time we met up I was her bike pacer to save my legs for the Founder's Day 10k race the following day so I am so excited to be able to actually get to run with her this time. Yay! (We gotta remember to take a pic!!!)
What do ya'll got on deck for the long run this weekend?

so it's not just me and my Nike+ that have a troubled relationship?! huh. Have a great run with Irish Cream this weekend!
Here ya go: *gold star!*
Very hardcore.
This weekend I have an 18K (11.something miles) and a 25K (15ish miles I think) on deck.
Have fun on your date with IC!
Totally hardcore running hill repeats in the rain! I got 14 this weekend:)
Hill repeats in the Rain!?!1! Hardcore!
Gotta 10 miler on tap my ownself!
not only hill repeats, but repeats IN the rain equals a few extra "badass" points AND a goldstar. I gotta do an 8 miler this weekend; I'm praying its gonna be above freezing temps...
you def get a gold star! running in the rain is no fun for sure.
im just going to get my tunes going and run for two hours and see how far i get.
I was supposed to do an 8 miler, but I think I am going to up it to 10! Great job on the hills :-)
Still healing, so my longest run is still at three miles. Probably shouldn't call it a long run. It's just a run.
hill repeats and rain = hard core, awesome job.
no more long runs for me till next year, just chillin on the trails for a while to recover from a long year.
hahahahaha long run. Um, yeah...for me, it is a 5k. Which I guess after a three week hiatus, is long!
Holly hill repeats! Great job in the rain! You get a bad ass star not just a gold star!
I am going for 15-16 this weekend with my trusty sherpa on his bike next to me! Have a good Thursday! :)
don't ya feel kind of hardcore for the rain run?! wait til you add SNOW to the agenda.... ;)
Blogger meet up RUN!! Loooove it, hope you gals have fun!
A zombie movie and whiskey on Friday night, followed by a 10 miler (in the woods) on Sunday!
Hehehe I LOVE the rain, well embrace it anyhow.. Good work on the repeats!
I am thinking of doing a LONG run.. I have 24 miles left to my goal, so I think I will run whatever mileage is left on Saturday and Sunday.. Sounds fun huh??
Off to check out the Giveaway.
Great job on the hills in the rain. I love the rain. (warm rain)
I am so far behind on my miles this week I will have to run 50 this weekend to catch up...not gonna happen. I am hoping for two 13s but I will have to see what the weather and my family have in store.
Have a great weekend.
You totally get a hard core stamp!
ps. I completely stole your 3 things thursday idea, because I love it so much! Hope that's ok :)
Hell yeah you get a gold star! I got up this morning, saw the rain and went back to sleep..... however, my hamstrings need rest and aren't you supposed to do something called tapering before a long run? Yup, TGS is going to attempt his first long run since Halloween time this weekend at the Florida Holiday Halfathon! Somehow a half marathon isn't scary anymore!
Aww, I loved the schmoop. :o) And yes, I'm totally taking credit for putting it out in the universe many moons ago. I'll give a moving speech about it at the reception when I'm your maid of honor.
i have a big fat ZERO on deck for this weekend for the first time in pretty much the whole year :) and i am going to enjoy it <3 have a great run with irish!!
Well I'm headed home tomorrow to FREEZING cold temperatures so I guess my "long" run will be whatever I can crank out on the treadmill. I'm aiming for 7 miles, but it'll probably be more like 6... Haha
Total gold star. I hate running in the rain. I only do it if I'm being forced. Like by 20 other people in my running group. Bastards.
Long run this weekend= Half marathon!
runnign in the ran SANS cover makes U a beast! I love it.
I have a 50 plus mile biek ride on saturday....followed by a small easy run...and a long run on sunday....prob 11 or 12 miles.
Keep it up!!
Running hills in the rain definitely deserves a hard core stamp! Way to earn it!
I'm doing Tucson Marathon this weekend, if you cared to join in on the fun, I'd love the company! :)
I absolutely hate rain too, but it's been snowing here so I don't know which is worse!
I remember just a few months ago when a certain redheaded runner REFUSED to run her Saturday long run (with the Brandon running group) because of some light drizzle. O.K. Maybe slightly closer to a monsoon, but not much.
Now, a hill workout in the rain?
Gold Star!! :-)
it's gonna be a good weekend in so. cal. i'm volunteering at an aid station for the chimera 100k/100mi race in the cleveland nat forest. my aid station is up on trabuco peak and i'll be there from 7pm to 5am. the weather is supposed to be somewhere in the 20-30 range, with rain, sleet and snow! woohoo! i'm just thankful i'm not RUNNING that foolish thing.
Thanks for the Nike+! I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival in the mail. The anticipation is killing me!
Enjoy that long run!
We're looking at highs in the low 20s here, so I'm not sure what this weekend will bring for me!
my old nike+ was moody for me too. worked OK on "regular" runs but not at all on tempo/interval runs. and races, you can forget about it. wasn't a big deal to me though i've always just gone by whatever the race says their distance is. those people who get all up in a funk about 3.214 vs 3.1 i mean seriously. give me a freakin' break.
anywho. have a good run with the sexy irish this weekend! i am supposed to do 12 too so pretend i am there virtually.
crappy weather hill runs .... sweet
My "long" run is going to be a 5K race tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll lengthen it by doing a mile warm-up.
Absolutely adored the schmoop. It totally tugged at my dried up old heartstrings. :)
You most definitely achieved gold star hardcore status. The rain is just awful lately!
Oh man, I was just about to give you shit about how you better get ready for 12 miles in the rain tomorrow a.m. . . . but then I checked accuweather again, and realized we may actually get lucky. It currently says "cloudy" all morning long. Yippy!
Can't wait to see you tomorrow a.m.!
I think knowing a boy in MI helps makes you more 'rain running' hard core. because boys from MI love them some rain run'in.
Hill repeats in the rain? Def hardcore!
