- It seems that after Tuesday's post I have some 'splaining to do. First and foremost, yes I know that was really, really, STOOPID of me to run for months and months in pain... but in my defense, as weak as it may be, I grew up with brothers and spent a good portion of childhood being told to "suck it up" and "quite being such a girl" etc... For instance when I was 13, I fractured my fibula; I limped around on it for a week before my parents finally took me to a doc and after the x-rays came back they felt like the biggest @-holes ever. Parental FAIL. As for not mentioning it here, well I have told ya'll before, this is my happy place and I try not to focus on the negative so that part should really come as no suprise. BUT, I HAVE learned my lesson and WILL be going to the Sports Ortho as soon as my referral comes back approved and I will NOT run thru pain like that again. I am so lucky it wasn't something more serious and the last thing I want to do is jeopardize my future with running. I love running and would like to continue making sweet music with it... Please accept my apology?!?!?
- ON DECK: Another weekend, another Redhead tour across the state of Florida...
Halloween Halfathon is Saturday and I can't wait!!! Rixy is coming to cheer us on and you best believe B.o.B and I will be our typical out of control selves.
Halloween + Running = L.O.V.E.
Sunday I am headed over to Daytona to cheer on Tall Guy Surfing and Melissa as they run their first Half Marathon; Daytona Beach 1/2 Marathon (I'm becoming quite the spectating pro/ho lately...) - Speaking of Sunday, as most likely ya'll will not hear from me before then;
Good luck NYC Marathoners!!!
I am so pumped for you and will be cheering from afar! Can't wait to read all the race recaps and I will be race stalking a few of you!! No pressure... *insert evil laugh here*
Best of Luck to: Lindsay, Sun Runner, NY Wolve and Running Laminator!!! Each of you have been such an inspiration to me while I was on my journey to Chicago and I hope and pray ya'll have as fantastic of a run as I did! Run Smart, Run Fast, RUN STRONG!!!
As always rock those races/runs this weekend folks! Check back on the flipside for Halloween Mayhem!!!

Your weekend sounds like so much fun!! Hope it is a great one!
Also, I am totally pumped to get to read all of the race reports after Sunday . . . it's helping me deal with the fact that I can't be there to spectate this year (sad face).
On a related note, can't wait to read your Halloween Halfathon report!! :)
Sounds like a fun weekend ahead. Enjoy!!!
You are a travelling circus :) Busy busy!
Glad to hear the blog world gave you a swift kick in the pants and you are going to start taking better care of your body!!
Good luck NYC runners!!!
Halloween excitement abounds. Can't wait to see you Boo!
And def keep on an eye on those injuries.
kick some a$$ at your half and cause all kinds of trouble; then go and cheer your brains out!
you are a good runner friend.
I accept your apology, don't let it happen again ;-)
Have a good HALLOWEEN! Sounds like you have an exciting weekend planned!!!
Mayhem...you crack me up!!
Have a GREAT weekend little lady!
Thumbs up on you taking better care of your body...thumbs down on no Redhead support for my marathon...Boo...Boo!!! Haha...
Don't worry...I'll run with my legs but with your cheers in my heart...I think that should be enough to carry me through 26.2 miles!
Can't wait to hear about your Halloween surprise!
Have fun...you ROCK!
Goodluck on Saturday! I have my own Halloween Half in wine country! Whoo hoo! Free glasses of wine at the end!
And you are quite the spectating pro/ho! I need to fly you out to California for my own personal needs! Hahaha! Have fun with B.o.B.! :)
Have a great and fun Halloween weekend!
Good luck runners!
Oooooo eeeee! Looks like your weekend is packed with awesomeness. :) Have a blast!
And don't worry, you're not the only one who is a stubborn injured girlie (guilty too). I just don't like doctors, or insurance fiascos and the like. Gah! It's a curse.
Have a super fun weekend--it sounds jam packed and awesome! My running buddy is running NYC and I'm soooo excited (and a tad jealous). I have a half that morning, but, when I get back, I'm totally tracking her online. Stalkerish? Yes.
Thanks sooooo much for the info and stretches for my IT band--I was actually able to sloooooowly run a very short distance today, but, hey, that's better than nothin', right?
Yay! Have a great half on Saturday and can't wait to meet both of you on Sunday!
glad you're getting it looked at and that you're not running through the pain :)
Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned!
Running through serious pain = bad. But I have to stand behind you in that sometimes you DO have to run through the pain cause it's just old mindf*ck trying to get in you way. Hard to tell the difference, sometimes. Like, say with a stress fracture that you run on for 2 weeks until you can't even walk without pain.....that's just a random, not based on anyone I know example...
The Halfathon sounds way fun!! Can't wait to hear the post-race dish. Happy Halloweekend!
Sounds like a great weekend ahead :)
Have fun!
Are you and BOB costuming for the Halloween half?! there better be some pics!! ;) GOOD LUCK!
also, omg, serious FAIL - a broken leg for A WEEK?! ouuuuch.
Hey! Hope you had a great race today!! Love the package you got! So much fun!
belated thanks for the shoutout!
no worries about the stubborness... i mean, to be a true runner you have to be pretty hard-headed! hello, i've been running with nausea for 3-4 weeks now. yeah, i'm bright too. back in high school i had pneumonia for 2 weeks before i went to the doctor. i just assumed i had a really bad cold and that's why i had all that mucus/phelgm (yummm).
