Welcome to another edition of Tuesday Trial!
A couple of weeks back I finally got a coveted pair of Recovery Socks... in SHOCKING FUCHSIA.
(I heart Pink so you know I had too...)
A couple of weeks back I finally got a coveted pair of Recovery Socks... in SHOCKING FUCHSIA.
(I heart Pink so you know I had too...)
Test Run #1: I first tried them out after my 18 Miler in NSB, if you recall, this run involved beach and boardwalk running (not exactly your typical running surfaces). I put them on after the ice bath while I elevated and then proceeded to wear them over to breakfast. (I opted not to wear them to breakfast as I didn't want to embaress Tall Guy Surfing) After breakfast they went right back on and I wore them back to O-town. Come Sunday morning my legs were not nearly as dead as they normally are after a hard run and even felt somewhat springy. My recovery run that night went well and there was marginal marathon shuffle at the beginning.
Test Run #2: After my 22 turned 18 in Brandon Saturday I squeezed those puppies on much to the entertainment of the B.R.A. I got quite a few "ooh's and ahh's" and even more snickers. I limped around in them as we cheered everyone in and even wore them to breakfast. (I'm not sure the Panera patrons knew what to think of them but I digress) Come Sunday, my legs felt much better than normal and again, my marathon shuffle was hardly there when I knocked out my recovery run with Robin.

Survey Says: Redhead Running gives Recovery Socks the Rock Star vote! I highly recommend snagging a pair STAT! I intend to wear them on the plane next week and they will be packed into my recovery bag for after the marathon. (11 MORE DAYS!!!)
Before I sign off I just want to announce that at 6am this morning it was actually under 80 degrees! Florida is finally getting it's first taste of Fall!!!

What a stellar review. Now that they come in neon green, I don't know that I can resist a pair any longer.
Almost marathon time!
Great review!
It was 52 here this morning! Yikes!
What's with the fair skin - I thought you lived in Florida. And don't give me the "redhead" excuse.
Sexy socks ;) You must wear those with sandals and shorts!
You call just under 80 fall? You Floridians kill me LOL!
I need those. In fuchsia. They must help legs recover extra fast in that color. :-)
Great review - and YES (!!) I love my recovery socks, too. They are the best!
This morning the hubbie turned on the news and was like, "It's supposed to be 80 tomorrw! That's freezing!"
And to think he used to live in Chicago. How quickly one's blood things out...
I LOVE my Recovery Socks! Highly, highly recommend.
Looking sexy while recovering! Awesome.
Wow....I never knew socks could do so much! They sure look sylin though!
Amen to Fall Weather!! I LOVe LOVE my recovery socks and will be running wearing them now that the weather is COOLER..
So glad you like your Recovery Socks. They're awesome, aren't they?
And hot pink is THE BEST! Love that sexy leg pose. Work it, girl.
my recovery socks are only grey :(
I have compression pants and leg sleeves that I adore post long run!
I didn't realize the beach run was your first time wearing those! You wore them like a Pro! LOL... and heck yeah on the below 80 degrees this morning. It was officially 74 degrees at my house. Pretty soon we'll be running in the daylight! Hahaha....
Nice review. I just can't see spending $35 on a pair of socks. I'll stick to my knee-high tube socks. Cheers!
I hadn't even heard of these until you mentioned them before! It's great to hear all these fantastic reviews - definitely sounds like something I need to invest in.
How's your taper going?
i have a hot pink pair too... i like them! i like my other ones better though :) but i do love the pink!
i was just reading yours as you commented on mine :) hehehe cross country vibes going on right now!
After seeing your Zensahs Saturday morning I had to go get a pair. My local running store only had yellow and pink leg sleeves. Not very manly colors, but I'm trying them out now at work.
Enjoy your taper, see you in Chicago!
Oh man, the hot pink recovery socks are MY FAVORITE. They were the first thing I packed in my suitcase when I was getting ready to come down here! Oh, and I'm shooting you an email now about meeting up in Chicago! Can't wait!!! :)
Thanks for the review! Once I get into the heavy portion of my half marathon training, I'll definitely be picking a pair up (though likely not in pink).
Best of luck @ the Chicago Marathon, I'm not running this year but will be at the packet pickup, so perhaps I will "run" (lame pun intended) into you there.

PS It's funny, I was also thinking how Chicago was getting it's first taste of fall, except the temperature was below 60! 80 is hot to us here!!
You are reviewing so many cool running gadgets: the halo and these socks.
I almost got a pair of them earlier this week. But I thought I would look super goofy in them. Now I might reconsider....but probably still won't get a pair. Vanity has its price.
i love recovery socks (the actual brand or the theory). i don't know if i believe in their "powers" but they sure are comfy and my legs don't hurt any worse from them, so i'll take it.
Nice! I love pink too!
I so need a pair. They're already on my xmas list. :) Um...about the weather. It's been almost freezing overnight. It was 39 degrees on my way to work on Monday. Not. cool.
