6 - Why I have the best of friends...

So have you ever had one of those mornings that were immediately followed up with an absolutely perfect day like this...

...spent with the best of friends... the kind of friends that love you so much that they go above and beyond anything you would ever expect of them and do something so thoughtful that it reduces you to tears...

This is my birthday basket from Rixy... a non-runner who trekked down every little thing I might need and/or use regularly to make me a marathon care package! Shot Bloks, Raspberry Power Bar Gu's, Instant Cold Compresses for my knees, Band-aids for my toes, Smart Water for electrolytes, a 26.2 magnet for my car, Marathon Snicker bars because they said "Marathon", the Stick*, iTunes gift card to download songs for my race day playlist my favorite Balega socks and finally... a 26.2 frame with my "Caution: Redhead Running" logo printed up to hold a place til I get my finishers pic in it. (Her favorite part is the basket because it conveniently matches my bathroom! LOL!) If all this weren't enough then she wrote me the most hear felt card EVER and I spent a good 5 minutes crying my eyes out because I am so lucky to have such an amazing friend like my Rixy. I love her so much.

I have the best of friends a girl could ever ask for.

Now it's time to start packing, tying up loose ends, making final arrangements and preparing.. TO COMMENCE RACE WEEK!!!

T-MINUS 6 DAYS TIL CHICAGO!!!

*As Ebs and I were pulling off the highway I was telling her how I wish I had The Stick because I've had a knot in my calf for over a week...

Okay, that might just be the cutest present ever. Non-runners don't just know what type of stuff we marathoners need--she must have done her research (and she did a damn good job)! AMAZING. I can't believe it's race week. This is just crazy! :)

Awww, that kind of makes me tear up a bit. :o) My sister made me a basket for my first marathon, and I cried like a baby too. Sounds like you're ready!

What a great friend! That's such a cute gift basket! Thanks for your well-wishes, I'm still in bed sick as a dog, so glad my marathon is in 14 days, not 6! I've always wanted one of those 26.3 magnets. I can't wait to get one myself! Hope you had a great weekend!

That is the best gift basket ever! You DO have the best friends, I don't think any of my friends even know how long a marathon is or how much work it even takes to train for one :(
