Last October I convinced my best friend, Beaker Luv and her hubs to run the UCF - U Can Finish 2 & 5 Miler with me. They ran the 2 together and I tackled the 5. The next day I got a phone call from them saying that they'd no longer be able to run any races with me because they were expecting...
Fast forward to Saturday... they were out on a "Death March" aka trying to walk the long over-due RJ out when a rain storm came through the park... Beaker Luv ran as fast as she could to the car... commence contractions!!! Yesterday after I raced up to the hospital, they giggled to each other as they told me what brought on labor. The Hubs fired up the video camera and showed me a video he caught of her in the back yard running laps after they got home from the park. She didn't know he was filming so the look of sheer determination of a 10 month pregnant - week over-due Beaker Luv running back and forth thru their backyard was priceless! I don't think I laughed so hard in my life! Many, many hours and an unplanned C-Section later... meet baby RJ... my beautiful, perfect, amazing 8 lbs, 21 in, "nephew":
Everyone is doing great and Mommy & Daddy have already decided that RJ will probably grow up to be a runner and his favorite "Aunt" will be the one to take him running...
I'll have the 4th of July Run Recap a little later, but I just had to blog about this first! Hope ya'll understand! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday weekend, I know I did!
